With the increasing penetration of economic globalization, China's entry of WTO, and the arrival of knowledge economy, higher education in China is faced with more and more intensive international competition. Simultaneously, with the expedition of popular education style, great competition still exists among various kinds of universities in China. Because of this, multitudes of universities are setting up research model so as to enhance competitive edge. At the same time, those who have done are boosting core-cooperativeness, striving for being world-famous universities. As we all know, however, core-cooperativeness is not inherent, but developing incessantly. Making an investigation of those world-famous ones, we find their developing process is a constructing process of core-cooperativeness.The thesis analyses the nature, specialties of research universities, their current setting goal and existing situation. Basing on these, it probes into the concept, nation and constituents of core-cooperativeness, basically constructing a flawless core-cooperativeness theoretical system, expounding that the core-cooperativeness of research universities is not certain core-cooperative ability but a capacity system. And on the other hand, we know from the thesis that the capacity elements include college culture capacity, studying capacity, and innovating capacity, which constitutes peg-top structure system of core-cooperativeness. As a result we know that academic and a research style university is a unity of college culture capacity, studying capacity, and innovating capacity. The three parts have their own systems respectively, coordinating each other and interacting with each other. The structure of core-cooperativeness just like a peg-top, for the whole is ply rating structure, and each ply rating is coring structure, which provides analyzing concepts of groping for evaluation and education of core-cooperativeness in research universities. In the process of establishing the evaluation model of core-cooperativeness in research universities, the thesis has settled the evaluation procedure, design of evaluation index system, and the value of evaluation result according to the ply rating structure and coring structure in each part. After that, it sets up the evaluation index system of core-cooperativeness in research universities according to the principle of evaluation index design. Finally, it sets up the evaluation index weighing of core-cooperativeness in academic and research style universities on the basis of IAHP, and the evaluation model on the basis of grey system theory.The structure of core-cooperativeness in research universities determines not only its evaluation model and method, but its cultivating method. Actually the foster of core-cooperativeness in research universities should first cultivate college culture capacity with college spirit as the main form, second for studying capacity through setting studying organizations, and the last for innovation capacity with knowledge management as the background, so as to enhance core-cooperativeness and sustainable development in research universities, to adapt to serious competitive environment, and to deal with the challenge of knowledge economy and higher education internationalization.
