The current state of the operation of university organizations in China is far away from that of the genuine university and the ideal university, thus initiating unceasing doubts from the public. For this, many researchers have been making diagnoses and writing out prescriptions. In this article, from an angle of power, through an aerial view of outsiders, based on such theories as organizational sociology, historical sociology and pedagogy, with the focus on microscopic points, the practice, and the daily life, through careful and detailed analysis, the distribution of power in the operation of university organizations was depicted and described, and it was pointed out that the essence of logic of power lay behind the superficial phenomenon of the operation of university organizations, and the reasons and consequences for this condition were explained. Through this way, the current state of Chinese universities was expected to be criticized, thus constructing one way to know about their existing problems, then making diagnosis and treating the "disease".This article consists of three major parts logically, seven chapters altogether.Part I is argument foundation, including the first two chapters. Chapter one is introduction, mainly about the related research literatures. Chapter two is "Meditation on the truth of power". Through an etymological study of the word "power", the characteristics of power were obtained; the origin and types of power, and further the phenomenon of power in the view of politics, economics, and sociology were analyzed. On the basis of these, the relation between the power and the operation of organizations, how power formed an alliance with the organizations, how the operation of organizations affected the power, and the running state of administration of power among the organizations were analyzed, among which the unique function of the power in "units" of Chinese style was specially analyzed. Finally, three kinds of description way in the administration of power in the organizations were summarized, namely: dramatic sociology, bureaucracy, and field, which foreshadows for the following research.Part II is the investigation into power from the viewpoint of the history and reality on the basis of former argument foundation, consisting of three chapters, which is the main body of this article. Chapter three is "Inspection of power of university organizations". Through the study of the literatures on university organizations home and abroad, how the power in the organizations occurred, developed and affected each other in the course of operation was discussed; the allocation and laying condition of power of university organizations of different time was described; the classification framework was put forward about the endogenous function, the derivative function and the exogenous function of the university organizations according to the essence of "knowledge organization", which was used as the criteria to evaluate its value rationality and instrumental rationality, the focus of which was put on the significance of inspiration on the operation of organization of modern universities. Especially through the analysis of the development course of more than half century since the transplantation of university organizations into China, the fantastic differences in the surroundings and foundation background of the original universities were unfolded. All this was done with the critique hidden in the description, the value embodied in the narration. Chapter four is "Analysis of Power in the Field", in which the detailed description about the present state of the performance of power of university organization in modern China was made. The organizational framework was the episomal agent of the power of the organizations, and also the basis to carry out the actions. Therefore, this chapter firstly presented the framework of general power inside and outside the organizations of domestic universities, pointed out the nature of its "power section", and furthermore the characteristics of each "power section", discussed about its relationship with the endogenous function of university organization, analyzed the two kinds of classifications of power of university organization, pointed out the semantic origin and fallacy of dichotomy "academic power and the administrative power", further put forward the framework of explanation of power of three main agents, explained in detail and described the power system "conference" and the operation scene "document", reflected the essence of "the logic of power" in the operation of organizations. Chapter five is "Debate on the Conflicts of Power", elaborated on how power developed to be so, continued from the preceding part. Through the detailed analysis of the power of three kinds of main agents, the essence of conflict in the way of power was revealed in the course of description, which was the process of control by "super-organization", instead of the process of game discussed by many people, and it was pointed out that there was a interrelated meridian hidden among the power of the three main agents, and also the consequences owing to it.Part III is made up of one chapter, chapter six. Chapter six is "Logical use of power", which is the conclusion deduced logically. It was pointed out that the consequence of this power led to the illusion and vain position of the students' power, and the alliance of scholar's power with the power of the post, which further controlled the operation of university organizations, the core of which was the logic of bureaucrat, the logic of political power, instead of the power of knowledge, and that of the university either. It was a field where all levels of "the cadre" might stand out, not a field where the scholar might express his original and classic thoughts, which contained the profound principle "generation of leadership".The three parts above make up my individual understanding of the complete logical system of explanation to the existing problems of Chinese universities. In order to express my own macroscopic understanding of the problems of Chinese universities and a general command of its trend, I tried hard to have an aerial view of the history of development and future of Chinese universities in view of history and macroscopic sociology, which composes chapter seven, "Odd Comments", is the additional remarks on the general understandings of all the research questions by the researcher.In conclusion, through the analysis and discussion of the essence of the operation of the organization of Chinese universities, this article attempted to demonstrate one way to explain how to recognize the questions and analyze the questions, proposed my academic viewpoints, sought to urge the possible tract of good operation of the power of university organization, reconstructed the tradition of study, so that it could display its functions in the development of society of China as expected.
