Research On Residents' Participation Of Urban Communities

Residents' participation in the urban community construction is a focus question in the construction of community,which is widely discussed from different aspects and a lot of valuable achievements have been attained.However,there're some weaknesses in the research,for example, the subject of community-based participation is lack of research,and the empirical research is not enough,etc.This thesis describes the process of residents' participation,especially makes empirical research on the action process of residents' participation ever since this century.The author points out the multiplication of subjects of participation and that rational action strengthens the mutual trust and cooperation in-between different subjects.Through interviews in acquaintance-based community and stranger-based community,the interior mechanism of action-trust-cooperation is understood,which offers some experience for multilateral cooperation and social capital.The solutions and proposals are brought forward to promote the participation ability of residents.This thesis falls into five parts:Partâ… is introduction,which introduces the background and significance of this research,defines relative concepts,evaluates relative documents on urban community construction,and represents the frame of study and methods of research.Partâ…¡is about the process and current situation of residents' participation of urban community construction.It mainly discusses the following aspects:the route,content and characteristics of residents' participation under unit-system and street-system;under the community-system,with the reform of social system and the differentiation of social structure,the development of community construction,taking the practice of residents' participation in Wuhan as an example,illustrating the change of government's community development strategy and tactics and the consequence resulted from them;the participating subjects multiplies and rationality the mutual trust and cooperation in-between different subjects is reinforced.And finally discusses the problems in the residents' participation of urban community construction and its causal elements.Partâ…¢is about the investigation of residents' participation of Wuhan City.Community B,a modern real estate community,and Community G,a traditional street community,stand for "acquaintance community" and "stranger community" respectively.Through interviews in acquaintance-based community and stranger-based community,the interior mechanism of action-trust-cooperation between residents and government is understood,analyzes the causal elements,sorts out the common features and differences in the cultivation of social capital within communities.Partâ…£is about multiple subjects in community construction and the cultivation of social capital of community.The author points out that government,enterprises and construction organizations of community can take some concrete actions to strengthen trust and cooperation between residents and them.Partâ…¤is about the cultivation of residents' participation in the urban community construction. The author points out that it is necessary to create community construction with Chinese characteristics in the field of institutions innovation and capability building while social capital of community is growing.
