Research On Industries Layout Of Mineral Resources In Ningxia

Based on the Mineral Resources Industries Layout theory and its factors, such as geography, social economy, population and natural conditions, characteristics of mineral resources and their advantages and disadvantages in Ningxia Autonomous Region have been studied by qualitative and quantitative methods in the paper. With full utilization of the results from comprehensive economic segmentation, mineral resources as a production natural factor, the distribution and combination of other social production factors in different spatial areas and the characteristics of mineral resources and mining economic activities, the autonomous region is divided into four mineral resources economic zones(i.e. the Ningbei mineral resources economic zone, the Ningdong mineral resources economic zone, the Ningxi mineral resources economic zone, and the Ningnan mineral resources economic zone). And the four zones were evaluated on the basis of mineral resource, exploitation and utilization conditions, social and economic values, market, and etc. Farther more, the suggestions of the industrial layout idea and implementation policy on the mineral resources economic zone of Ningxia were put forward in accordance with the industrial layout theory.In the paper, it is suggested that four traditional industries should be changed and upgraded in the Ningbei mineral resources economic zone, including the industry of coal, power, steel and mechanical equipment manufacturing, and three rising industries of new materials,chemical and coal-based carbon materials must be cultivated and expanded. In the Ningdong mineral resources economic zone, three leading industries, coal, electric power and coal chemical, should be energetically developed, equipment manufacturing and environmental protection industry need be moderately developed, metallurgical industry and building materials industry should be actively developed. In the Ningxi mineral resources economic zone, carbon production base can be build around "TaiNing" coal, and the new application could be exploited relying on non-metallic mineral, such as high-quality metallurgy of megnesium dolomite, agricultural limestone, cement limestone and plaster, and building materials, metallurgy and ceramic materials should be developed. In the Ningnan mineral resources economic zone, the scale of coal resources exploitation must to be enlarged, the power industry should be moderately developed, and the building materials industry, such as cement and gypsum materials, should be actively promoted as well as metallurgy of megnesium industry which takes magnesium dolomite as the main raw material, and rock salt chemical industry should be vigorously developed.
