The year 2008 witnessed the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. In the past 50 years, it had achieved tremendous results in all spheres of development. Against the background of that, HALAL food industry had great success, Especially, it had become the Characteristic, competitive and pillared industry of Ningxia. The thesis studied the HALAL industry from minority-economics prospective by comprehensively adopting the theories and methodologies of Ethnology and Economics, based on the foundation of industry rules and Hui-Economic characteristics, analyzed six important factors, which composed HALAL food industry competitiveness of Ningxia as well as advanced many reasonable proposals to upgrade the HALAL industry competitiveness. It can provide not only profound theoretical and practical meaning but also great development the industry.The preface introduced the significance, challenge and method of the research on HALAL food industry competitiveness of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The chapter one expounded the results of specialists and scholars' researches, defined a set of core concepts. And introduced the Potter Diamond Model, one theory and normal form about analysis HALAL food industry competitiveness of Ningxia. Then, introduced the history of Ningxia Hui, the Hui lived and settled in Ningxia, so promoted and pushed the development of HALAL food industry. It must be pointed out that the strategy for the promotion of the western regions divided the industry development into two periods. The chapter two according to potter's diamond model, analyzed the HALAL food industry competitiveness of Ningxia from the six factors of producing elements, requirement condition, enterprise's strategy and sustainability industry, government support and challenge. Besides, explained the close relationship about each factors, and modified the model in order to better research. The chapter three offered some concrete recommendations and advices about the industry competitiveness problems. For example, Focus on elevating the competitiveness of advanced elements; implement of modern marketing management; building HALAL food circle, industrial clusters development; carry out company development strategy; set up HALAL food laws and safety system; strengthen the HALAL food industry value chain, so as to grasp the opportunities.Through the systematic analysised, we can draw such conclusions concerning the study on the competiveness of HALAL food industry as follow: 1. The competiveness of HALAL food industry in Ningxia is based on the primary factors which have the competitive advantage;2.HALAL food features rigid demand. HALAL food industry in Ningxia has broad space to develop because of its great potential in both the domestic and international market;3.Relevant and supportive industries of HALAL food industry in Ningxia have demonstrated close corporation effect and have manifested the trend of industrial concentration;4.Various department of Ningxia government have set up competitive system, strengthening the competitive advantage of HALAL food industry in Ningxia;5.The problems existed in the main players of HALAL food industry in Ningxia have become a decisive factor that blocks the further increase in the competitiveness of the industry;6.The weakness in the capability of capturing the opportunity has brought negative influence on the development of HALAL food industry in Ningxia Hui autonomous region. The respective influence and joint effect of the six detailed factors have constituted the competitive advantage of HALAL food industry in Ningxia. Altogether they decide the contemporary competitiveness and future development of Ningxia HALAL food industry.
