Study On The Mechanism Of Social Capital To Alliance Dynamic Stability

Influenced by economic globalization, and the rapid development of science and technology, etc. the mode of competition of enterprises have been changing a lot, from pure competition to cooperative competition, from individual competition to collective competition, strategic alliance has been an important tool for improving competitiveness.Strategic alliance helps enterprises focus resources on the links what they do best, and achieve "Refocusing" of business by resource-sharing,completing each other,risk-sharing. Through the tool of strategic alliance, more and more enterprises avoid weakness, achieve remarkable performance and grow into well-known enterprises.However, although strategic alliance is more and more common, it has a higher instability, thus restricts the development and role of healthy alliance.Therefore, this article studied the mechanism of achieving alliance stability to help enterprises strengthen the management of the problem on alliance stability and make better use of the tool of strategic alliance.This article discussed the concepts of strategic alliance,social capital,interdependence balance,alliance stability, and their connotation and nature, analyzed systematically the root of strategic alliance instability, the conditions,ways and value of realizing alliance dynamic stability around the ultimate goal of value creation,improving competitiveness and building competitive advantages.Theoretical analysis thinks that the interdependence balance among alliance partners is the major condition for realizing alliance dynamic stability which is the important source of value creation. Social capital helps partners to promote the interdependence balance which plays a intermediary role between social capital and alliance dynamic stability.The stress of this study explored the mechanism of social capital to alliance dynamic stability based on theory and related cases analysis, put forward the frame of this study and relevant hypothesis, led interdependence balance into a mediation variability.This article divided social capital into three dimensions of structure, relations and cognitive according to previous studies, and tested respectively the mechanism to alliance dynamic stability.Based on above theory analysis, this study verified theoretical frame through empirical study, and collected research data by the means of questionnaire survey, and there was 152 valid questionnaires. The software of SPSS16.0 and Lisrel8.70 was used to verify sample data on the qualitative index such as reliability, validation, multi-collinearity. On the basis of data quality meeting the requirements, this article used regression analysis to verify study hypothesis.By empirical study, the major research conclusions from this article are:firstly, social capital is benefit to achieve alliance dynamic stability. Secondly, interdependence balance is good to realize alliance dynamic stability, and the use it plays on alliance dynamic stability is larger than that of social capital. Thirdly, the dimension of cognitive in social capital contributes to promoting interdependence balance, which plays a partly intermediary role between the dimension of cognitive in social capital and alliance dynamic stability. Forth, the dimension of cognitive is the most deepest content in social capital. Fifthly, the type of alliance (equity alliance and non-equity alliance) has not inevitable relations between alliance dynamic stability. Six, the scope and power gap between alliance partners has no necessary link.The possible innovations in this article are:First, it proposed the concept of alliance dynamic stability based on learning from previous related research. From the angle of static state, that changes happen in alliance means instability; from the angle of dynamic state, adjusting the way of cooperation and management by the changed situation dynamically and constantly is an effective means of enchancing efficiency and promoting competitiveness, this adjustment is not the instability of alliance, but the stability of dynamic, it is the important source of value creation.Secondly, this article deeply probed into the essence of social capital, and point out that it is a kind of resource, a capability as well. Social capital is the means of achieving their goals for enterprises, it can not ensure enterprises to think about problems from the perspective of others, nor can it change the enterprises'goal of pursuing ultimate profit.Thirdly, this article introduced interdependence balance as a mediation variability, which reveals the key to the mechanism of alliance dynamic stability as for social capital. Independence is the basic factor for building alliance, achieving interdependence balance is the fundamental condition to maintain alliance stability, while social capital is the tool to realize interdependence balance. The leading in of this mediation variability caused this study to follow the essence of "economic man", social capital can not change this, it can not substitute "economic man", either, on the other hand, it supplements "economic man" and makes it close to "real people". Fourthly, this article to some extent expanded the application of the theories on resource base and organizational learning in alliance management, and it also integrated these two theories.
