Theory And Analysis On Regional Modernization

On modernization, researchers from different research backgrounds have formed different opinions,theory systems and research groups. Other than that, they have built characteristic theory research system for modernization from various aspect. Thus, exploring new research aspects and methods implies adding fresh knowledge and contents to modernization theory.In this paper,a uniformed cognition is made and initial research system is constructed on spatial range,implication, aim and basic concepts for regional modernization,from aspect of region science and modernization theory,just as a try on theory. Researches on regional modernization mean a lot on theory as well as practice. This paper is made regarding the situation of globalization of economics, integration of regions,information,knowledge economics,sustainable development in China,as well as the involvement in WTO of China.Spatial implications of regional modernization can be summarized on sovereignty region,administration region and district range;Targets for region modernization can be defined as relative aims and executable aims. Regional modernization means important changes in economics,society,culture, life ideas and customs under the influences of modernization drive and institution revolution. But different ways,processes and degree are found in different areas and different period. Two ways is found to reach the relative aim for modernization in different areas. One is power promotion,which means to coordinate industrialization and urbanization , industrialization and information. The other one is innovation promotion,which means to organize innovation system,construct regional innovation networking,and innovation developing mode.The analysis in the paper can be divided into 3 parts:about Yangzi Delta, considering Zhejiang province,and in respect to Hangzhou city. Accordingly,it is believed that the main tasks to accelerate the progress of modernization can be divided into 3 steps:Yangzi Delta,Zhejiang province,and Hangzhou city. It is believed that the main tasks are to build the'Z'type construction for the integration of city development and hi-tech integration of the industry. The integration of city development can be executed in 3 aspects: structures,city combination and institution innovation,in order to accelerate the progress of Yangzi Delta modernization. The integration of hi-tech and industry can be promoted by optimizing the overall structure,accelerating the sub-urban development,impelling the formation of innovation system and enhancing the institution establishment.On the calculation performed on index system for regional modernization assessment,the integrated assessing value for Zhejiang in 2001 is 62.56%.
