A Study On Spatial Harmonization In Optimization Of Industrial Structure Of Sichuan Province

Regional industrial structure is a rational combination of industry and the place where it locates. The optimization of regional industrial structure requires, on the one hand, the improvement of overall industry quality which intends to achieve structural rationalization and advancement, and regional spatial harmonization on the other hand, thus making evolution and optimization of industrial structure suitable to the capacity and development of local resources and environment. Therefore, spatial harmonization is a prerequisite to optimization of regional industrial structure and regional economic development.The adjustment of industrial structure has been an important and challenging task in the process of regional economic development since recent ten years. Though remarkable progress has been made since the beginning of reform and opening up, in many regions, the problems such as co-existence of full-category of industries, weakness of leading industries, similarity of industries between different regions, low-level redundant construction still remain fundamentally unchanged. What is worse, with rapid economic development, the contradiction between industrial expand and the shortage of nature resource such as water and land has become obvious. Ecological environment has been improved partially, while, the whole has become deteriorated sharply. These problems have been caused by various factors.
