Led and driven by science and technology in the 21st century, human beings are evolving from industrial society to knowledge society. Science and technology created new economic growth point and plays a more important role in solving a series of major issues such as the sustainable development of the society. It has become the important impetus of social development and the source of wealth. For this reason, China put forward the goals of "independent innovation strategy" and "building an innovative country" in 2006. Innovation of CoPS represents the trend of future technology development and it is the basis to build an innovative country.With the characteristics of wide time span, engineer-to-order, advanced technology to be adopted, etc., CoPS innovation becomes a systematic project full of risks. In the process of innovation, innovators must treat every decision very cautiously because a tiny mistake might lead to catastrophes. Therefore, innovation risk management of CoPS has gradually become the focus of attention in academic and industrial circles.At present, the research on CoPS innovation risks is still at an initial stage. This dissertation hereby aims at the characteristics of CoPS innovation and focuses on certain issues of risk management of CoPS innovation. There are altogether eight chapters:The first chapter is introduction. This chapter explains the research background of risk management of CoPS innovation and analyzes the present situation of China's risk management of complex product innovation according to the past research. Then research significance, train of thoughts and research methods are expounded.The second chapter is literature summary which sums up and comments on the relevant theories of CoPS innovation and risk management of technical innovation. It is the theoretical basis of the following research.The third chapter researches in theory the pivotal risk factors of CoPS. This chapter classifies the pivotal risk factors and indicates that these risk factors don't exist isolated, which also affect innovation result in different ways. Then pivotal risk factor model is put forward and it opens out the dynamics characteristics of innovation risks of complex product in an all-round way.The fourth chapter is the positivist test of the pivotal risk factor model of CoPS innovation. The positivist analysis proves the validity of the pivotal risk factor model. Relevant research discoveries are also explained.The fifth chapter investigates two primary quantitative risk assessment models. The author adopts precise mathematics model to systemically analyze the basic elements of probability risk assessment model and fuzzy risk assessment model and then compares the two models.The sixth chapter puts forward comprehensive risk assessment model of CoPS. This model adopts fuzzy AHP which makes up the disadvantage of traditional AHP. It effectively combines probability risk assessment model with fuzzy risk assessment model which accords with the trend of risk assessment research.The seventh chapter discusses the selection of organization model of CoPS innovation and its role in controlling risks. This chapter starts from the resource theories and indicates the necessity of cooperative innovation to CoPS. An organization structural model of project-based CoPS innovation is put forward. In this model, innovation members are classified into three levels and members at different levels play different roles in innovation. The chapter demonstrates that project-based organization can not only reduce the innovation risks of CoPS but also improve the efficiency of innovation.The eighth chapter is conclusion and prospect.The whole dissertation combines the problems arising from the practice of China's CoPS innovation with the detailed research of risk management of CoPS innovation. Its conclusion does not only have certain theoretical significance but can also be used for reference by Chinese enterprises involving complex product innovation.
