The enterprise organizational structure has been recognized as the keystone in theresearch fields of organization theory and management theory all through the ages. Theinnovations have been going on from the beginning of unitary structure to the latestpattern of network structure. However, it is not known totally that what causes theorganizational structure innovation and that what the trend is. It is necessary to answerthese questions. Based on System Theory, Cybernetics, Information Theory, KnowledgeTheory, Self-Organization Theory, Mechanics and Organization Behavior Theory, theresearch reveals the mechanism and method of enterprise organizational structureinnovation and probes the future patterns of organizational structure.The main contents of this study are as follows:Firstly, the research range of enterprise organizational structure is defined. With theorganizational boundary more open, fuzzy and dynamic, the range of enterpriseorganizational structure includes not only the internal organizational structure but alsothe interorganizational structure.Secondly, the history of the enterprise organizational structure innovation isretrospected and the present situations and problems of China's enterpriseorganizational structure innovation are analyzed. There are two kinds of typicalstructure forms, mechanical structure and organic structure. The enterpriseorganizational structure has undergone changes for many times, such as ClassicalStructure, Unitary Structure, Holding Company Structure, Multidivisional Structure,Super-multidivisional Structure, Matrix Structure and Multidimensional Solid Structure.For China's enterprise organizational structure innovation, it is relatively delayed ininnovative level though diversification in patterns, which leads to low efficiency.Thirdly, based on the Self-organization Theory, the study proposes the frameworkto analyze the self-organization mechanism of the enterprise organizational structureinnovation. Such aspects as prior condition, internal motivity, early inducement, path,form and evolvement process are analyzed. In addition, the self-organization process isexplained.Fourthly, from the angle of the mechanics, the research analyses the mechanism ofthe enterprise organizational structure innovation. The motivities and resistances of the enterprise organizational structure innovation are analyzed with the method of forcefield analysis. The study proposes a dynamical model composed of six kinds ofmotivities and analyses their effects on the enterprise organizational structureinnovation. In addition, the study puts forward some measures to overcome theresistances.Fifthly, the study forecasts the trend of the enterprise organizational structureinnovation and elaborates on three kinds of new structures including the horizontalstructure based on business process reengineering, the modular structure, the networkstructure and the structure of learning organization.Sixthly, the dissertation sets up the implementation model of the enterpriseorganizational structure innovation. The study proposes the early-warning model todecide the innovation opportunity. Aimed at the risk of the enterprise organizationalstructure innovation, the dissertation puts forward the measures to guard against.Seventhly, the dissertation evaluates the performance of the enterpriseorganizational structure innovation. Based on the Cobb-Douglas production function,the study sets up a theoretical model to evaluate the contribution of the organizationalstructure innovation to the output. In addition, the dissertation sets up the index systemof performance evaluation on enterprise organizational structure innovation andemploys the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to assess the performance.Finally, the dissertation puts forward some thoughts to innovate the organizationalstructure by analyzing the case of Haier Company.
