At present, strategic transformation of China's telecommunication carriers has become into one of the main themes. As the driving force and a source of strategic transformation, the role of technological innovation is increasingly prominent under the background of the strategic transformation. Furthermore, technological innovation has become China's national strategy and the leading telecom carriers also suggested paying more on R&D to enhance independent innovation capability. In this context, it is obvious significant in practice to research on technological innovation of telecom carriers combined with strategic transformation. However, there are not many researches aiming at technological innovation of telecom carriers in theoretical circles, and it's rare of combining strategic transformation and technological innovation, as a result, this research is of great theoretical significance.To achieve the effective result of study on technological innovation system and models of telecommunication carriers in china under strategic transformation background, it uses the following methods in this dissertation: a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, a combination of literature reviews and field surveys, systematic method, comparative analysis and other methods.The contents of this dissertation conclude:Chapter I, introduction, it describes the background and significance, the research idea and structuring, research methods and possible innovation of this study.Chapter II, summary of the theory. It focuses on studies related to the theoretical basis in this paragraph, including strategic transformation theory, the theory of technology innovation, so as to lay a solid analysis of the remaining chapters of the theoretical foundation.Chapter III, current situation and problems of technological innovation of China's telecom carriers. As this dissertation targets only at China's telecom carriers, the analysis of current situation of China's telecom carriers is the base of study on innovation system and models. Chapter IV, the practice and experience of foreign telecom carriers in technological innovation. On the one hand, it makes a review and analysis on the innovation of foreign carriers, and on the other hand, it sums up the successful experiences of innovation system construction and innovation mode selection of foreign carriers to provide an example for China's companies.Chapter V, analysis of technological innovation of telecom carriers under the transformation background. In this chapter it explores the relationship between strategic transformation and technological innovation based on the analysis of current situation of domestic and foreign carriers. It also clarifies the requirement for technological innovation from strategic transformation.Chapter VI, analysis on technological innovation system of China's telecom carriers. At first, it classifies the structure of this system, and then it makes a more detailed analysis of the construction of this technological innovation system, focusing on the organization design and mechanism settlement. It also put forward an effective and workable comprehensive evaluation index system to assess the innovative capabilities.Chapter VII, study on the innovation models of China's telecommunication carriers. It elaborates the rule of selecting innovation model based on the assessment of different innovation modes, then explores the model selection method, and at last, it performs an empirical case studies with China Unicom.Chapter VIII, the advice to promote technological innovation for China's telecom carriers. It puts forward several advices from the aspects of corporation planning, technological innovation, investment funds, HR inspiration, and so on.Chapter IX, conclusions and prospects. It describes the outline of the overall dissertation, and points out the further study direction based on the inadequacies of this research.Compared with the similar studies, the potential flare points of this dissertation include the following:1, It analyzes systermaticly the interactive relationship between strategic restructuring and technological innovation of telecom operators, it advances the requirements for technological innovation from strategic restructuring, from the angles of restructuring sector and telecom industrial chain. This method provides a new research idea for the further study on strategic restructuring of telecom operators. (In Chapter V). 2, Combined with the characteristics of telecom carriers, it makes out the concept originally of technological innovation system of telecommunication carriers. (In Chapter VI).3, Based on the characteristics of telecom carriers, it brings forward an effective and workable comprehensive evaluation index system to assess the innovative capabilities. (In Chapter VI).4, It integrates the methods of SWOT model, AHP model and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation, constructs a 3D model to support technological innovation mode selection for telecom operators, and takes China Unicom as an example for expalaination. (In Chapter VII) .It hopes to make some contribution in theory of telecommunication carriers' transformation and technological innovation, and help to provide some reference for Chinese telecommunication carriers' strategic transformation and technological innovation practice.
