The relationship between logistics system and urban economy development is not only determined by the interaction between the two systems, but also by the direct conjunction and coupling of the factors in those systems. As a newly established industry, logistics provides fundamental, comprehensive services, which have various effects on the development of urban economy. Therefore, many big cities have planned to include the object of developing modern service industry as an important content of their eleventh Five Year Plan. And logistics is regarded as a significant foundation that supports the development of the service industry in one city.Based on the systematic analysis of the conjunction mechanism between logistics and urban economy development, the dissertation tries to build up a new logistics planning method, which is oriented by the urban industries conjunction.Firstly, in the guidiance of the export-oriented regional economy growth theory, the thesis tries to explore the idiographic approaches for logistics to lead the economy growth of one city from various aspects, such as technical advancement, product cost, transaction cost, export supporting services in that city and etc. Also it establishes a cumulating model of urban economy growth, which assimilates logistics as one of the variables.Secondly, the dissertation defines the concept of the industries conjunction from five angles. They are product and service, production technology, price factor, employment and investment. In the meantime, it clarifies that logistics makes contribution to city's services industry and the development of other industries. Under such circumstance, in the thesis the author designs the input-output model between the logistics and urban industry structure.Thirdly, the thesis reappraisals the concept of city spatial structure and explores the general evolution rules, which are that the intrinsic momentum of the evolution comes from the agglomeration and that the agglomeration is influenced by labor division and specialization. In such case, the thesis discusses the way that the logistics effects on the labor division and specification, the agglomeration and the diffusion in a city, which includes the effects on the spatial structure of one city from its logistics network, the construction of the logistics area in a city, and the effects of logistics info-technology advancement.Fourthly, according to the demands of the urban economy development for the logistics, the role of logistics playing in the development of urban economy and the conjunction between logistics and urban economy, this thesis builds up the optimizing model for one city's logistics planning, which is based on the industries' conjunction, and discusses the optimizing proportion structure between logistics and other urban industries. This model offers a strategic support to the logistics system planning in a city.Fifthly, another feather of the dissertation is the case study on Tianjin within the analytical framework used above. The main objectives of the thesis are to create a new theoretical framework, which could combine together with the industry analysis and regional analysis, to overcome the limitation of the current city logistics planning, which is lack of the systematic thinking and scientific approaches. The author expects that such framework could bring some innovative ideas to the urban logistics development models and the urban logistics planning.
