| The new technology revolution got booming development with modern life science and biotechnology in the 1980s when the IT revolution attains the quickest development. The history of world is in a great changing process, that is, from the age of physics and chemistry to the age of life science, from the industry revolution to the life science revolution. The bio-industry will become the most important strategic industry of the world sustaining development of economy and society in 21 centuries. It has become the pivot of every country's economic development, especially of big countries, to accelerate bio-industry development, promote its competitory power and occupy the highest point in a new turn international competition.In modern history, China has missed several opportunities of developing with the world technology revolution, leaving many pities and lessons. Nowadays, the world biotechnology is in the beginning stage of large-scale industrialization, which leaves both the developed and the developing countries facing a new selection and the undeveloped countries a historic opportunity to get a spanning development.In the first 20 years of 21 century, our country will continue to push the industrialization progress and to set up the well-to-do society. Of course, to complete the above targets is an arduous mission in the country for owning so large population. Therefore, we should persist in holding scientific-developing view, changing the way of economy increase and looking for a new way of industrialization with Chinese character. This new way, ensuring sustaining development, depends on the enhancement of technology and economic benefit, reduction of resources consumption and environment pollution, and the sufficient utilization of human resources. The characteristics of bio-industry can satisfy the above requests to a large extent. Therefore, it is a historic strategic selection for China's peaceful rising to develop bio-industry and bio-economy strongly thus makes it a pillar strategic industry in our country, the key-point of which is to cultivate and promote our country's competitory power of bio-industry!The fast fierce development and day by day vigorous world competition of bio-industry make it become the focus of the domestic and international government, academic circles, industry field and even the whole world. The need of practice pushes the development of theories, so there is the necessity and urgency of putting forward and researching a competitory power of bio-industry theory. New result by index checking shows that the related research hasn't been done, so this thesis is a kind of initial research.Surrounding the topic of competitory power of bio-industry, this thesis carried on extensively thorough actual investigation (in Changjiang triangle, Zhujiang triangle, Beijng and Tianjin et al), abundant literature search (life science, biotechnology, economics, management, industrial economics, environmental science and futurology et al) and careful data sorting and literature overview. By this precondition, we researched on the category, history, present condition, characteristics, trend and significance of modern life science and biotechnology which are the natural science foundation of bio-industry, as well as the social science foundation which includes economics, management, sociology. Then we analyzed and defined bio-industry, the objective carrier of competitory power of bio-industry, in terms of category, development, structure and contents, and characteristics. After analyzing its social and economic benefits, its lifecycle of embryo, development, maturity, decline and transmutation, its characteristic and theory of evolvement as a strategic industry and its vocational division and statistic method, we put forward a cultivating model of bio-industry as a strategic predominant industry. Accordingly the research background and foundation will be established.According to the research object and core, the competitory power of bio-industry, this thesis was unfolded from four aspects: Firstly, we put forward the competitory power of bio-industry theory, its concepts and categories, analytical frame and theories structure from analyzing its influence and determinant system; Secondly, appraisal models, based on deciding (indirect) factors, composing (direct) factors and realizing (appraisal) factors, were respectively established, by using related mathematics method, cooperate theories, management and economics theories; Thirdly, according to the research on life cycle of bio-industry, we analyzed the characteristics and countermeasures of its competitory power changing at different stages; Fourthly, we focused on the core carrier of the bio-industry andits competitory power--the bio-industry cluster (life science industry park and biologicvalley), the bio-industry cluster theories and the park-area competitive factors and the capital market and the financing competition which are important drive factors of the competitory power of bio-industry. Firthly, making use of the evaluation model of bioindustrial competition ability, we carry on bioindustrial competition ability comparison of the United States and Chinas, and evaluate a substantial evidence.Then we carried on an statistical analysis of the development and the competitory power of bio-industry in the world and China according to the competitory power theories and models.Concerning with the global situation, we mainly made comparison research on the development and competitory "diamond factors" of bioindustry between main countries in North America, Europe and Pacific Asia. Features, advantages and disadavantages of different coutries' bioindustry, as well as the driving factores and supporting condition abstracting from international competed practice of bioidustry, were analysied and summed up. Conerning with China, we mainly analysied the structure and contents of Chinese bio-industry, from perspectives of history, present condition, strategic opportunity, scale and restricted factors of bio-industry development and competition. Thus, we got a systemetical analysis and comprehensive evaluation of the comparative and competitive advantages of Chinese competitory power of bio-industry, pointing out its advantages and problems, according to which we put up the "diamond model factor" system analysis and evaluation and got the main conclusions about supportive conditions and restricted factors and so on as the important basis to promote the competitory power of Chinese bio-industry.Finally, the theme of the thesis is to cultivate and promote the competitory power of Chinese bio-industry. Based on the research and analysis mentioned above, we put forward the strategic measures-the national strategy and strategic emphases suggestion from the perspective of competition ability of bioindustry. The measures included grasping the historic opportunity of global bio-industry development, setting up a strategic system to promote the innovation, traditional industry reformation, person resources, financing, capital market, internationalization, clusterization and Chinese traditional medicine modernization and so on, which can promote the competitory power of Chinese bio-industry radically and push China to become a big country of bio-industry by creating a surpporting condition for the bio-industry.This thesis combined life science and biotechnology with management and economics, theories research with positive analysis, experience research, strategy design and implementary measures, academic result with industry practice which not only shows certain academic innovation,but also puts forward and establishes related categories, theories and models. It also put forward the countermeasures to promote the competitory power of Chinese bio-industry based on the substantial analysis of the development and the competitory power of bio-industry in the world and in China.
