In China nowadays, some manufacturers begin to green their supply chains (SC) by certain external pressures, such as the exacerbation of environment pollution, the strengthening of environment regulations and the enhancement of consumption demand. It was told that, in the developed countries, the core enterprise with enormous capacity and far-reaching sight was the key to facilitate the development of green supply chain (GSC). However, the study of GSC management is at its early stage in China, and research papers on dynamic mechanism and members' coordination are fairly rare. Therefore, combined with the domestic condition and taken the research results and practice experiences of developed countries for reference, several kinds of decision-making mechanisms of the core manufacturing enterprise in the construction/operation of the GSC are studied by using the game theory, the incentive theory, the optimal control theory and certain group decision-making methods. Through the research work, it is hoped to get valuable results to direct the operation of GSC in nowadays China, and to provide necessary supplement to the theory of GSC. The main contents and conclusions are summarized as follows.(1) The role of core enterprise in the operation of GSC is discussed in the second chapter. The correlation and distinction between common SC and GSC are analyzed, and the dynamic factors for promoting common SC to GSC are proposed. In addition, based on the role analysis of core enterprise in the GSC, the necessity of the research work is expounded.(2) The decision-making problems of core enterprise during the GSC's construction stage are talked about in the third chapter. In view of actually domestic condition, the construction process of GSC is put forward, the partner selection/evaluation approach based on the AHP and triangular fuzzy number theory is proposed, and an ANP-based strategic decision model for the GSC is given. The results are helpful to settle a steady basis for further operation of the GSC.(3) The coordination methods drafted by the core enterprise in the operation of GSC are analyzed in the fourth chapter. The exact coordination measures/contents established by the core enterprise are provided. Considering the quality, the utility diversity and the uncertain demand of green products respectively, three coordination strategies are proposed on the principles of system optimization and Pareto improvement. Moreover, a short-forecasting model for green product sales is provided. The research results in the chapter are contributive to the efficient operation of GSC.(4) How to formulate the incentive contracts by the core enterprise are studied in the fifth chapter. The main factors/approaches in the design of incentive mechanism by the core enterprise are proposed. Using the game theory, the incentive theory and the optimal control theory, an incentive method aimed to green raw-material purchasing, which is an adverse selection problem, is given. And two incentive contracts considering the research & development of the GSC's upstream members, one for improving the quality of raw materials, the other for reducing the production costs, both two are the moral hazard problems, are put forwarded by the core enterprise. More importantly, the incentive mechanism for the dual asymmetric information of downstream sellers is established. The conclusions are conducive to enhance the competitiveness of GSC.(5) The decision behaviors making by the core enterprise as it faces exactly external circumstance are discussed in the sixth chapter. The influences of several subjects in the external environment to the GSC are discussed. By using the evolutionary game theory, the operation mode is to be finally selected by the core enterprise with free market mechanism, as well as the role of government to promote the evolution of GSC, are analyzed in detail. In addition, how to make decision by the core enterprise when the green technology is created and diffused is also discussed. The research results are useful to guide the creation of good external environment for the GSC.In sum, the dissertation focuses on the study on the relationships of cooperation, coordination and incentive between the core enterprise and other members in the GSC, and the study on the decision behaviors making by the core enterprise while facing certain external subjects. The results gained by the research work are significant and helpful to guide the construction/development of China's modern manufacturers, as well as the institution /implementation of government's sustainable development policies.
