Urbanization is a prominent feature of the modernization, but also the inevitable trend of social development. Through 30 years' reform road, China as the world' s largest developing country, the per capita GDP has exceeded 3000 U. S. dollars and industrialization has been quietly mature. At the same time, urbanization as the important carrier of economic growth and industrialization has reached a considerable level and fully reflects their features. However, as in the domestic and external conditions change, the path of urbanization in China need to "innovation" and breakthroughs.This paper determines the current level of urbanization, reviews and sums up experiences and lessons of Chinese and foreign cities, analyzes the alternation of urban development' s internal and external conditions, and raises a new type of city roads to adept to era and national conditions.Chapter one firstly analyzes and researches the basic theory of urbanization, including the definition of urbanization and measure the impact of factors of urbanization, the development of the type of urbanization. Secondly, studying the level of urbanization in different periods, the characteristics of urbanization and human development needs, and ultimately come to the conclusion: the purpose of urbanization is to protect "the all-round development". Thirdly, systematically discussing urban civilization, including the definition, the connotation of the meaning of urbanization.Chapter two reviews and analyzes abroad urbanization history and characteristics. This chapter selected six typical samples for analysis. The United Kingdom is the first complete urbanization and urban modernization. The United States is currently the most economically developed countries. Japan and South Korea and China are neighbors with the same characteristics of population and culture. India and Brazil lie in the same stages of development with China.Chapter three reviews and analyzes domestic urbanization history and characteristics. In this chapter, Reform and opening-up is the time node to divide China' s urbanization history. In short, before 1978 China' s urbanization lagged behind the economic development and violated the objective laws. After 1978, China' s cities gradually on the right track and entered into the fast lane of development, but focus on the speed and size excessively.Chapter four, firstly summing up the features of traditional urbanization and expounding the new era and new stage, new background. Secondly, this part building the guiding ideology of new urbanization road, scientific development concept. thirdly, discussing the relationship between new road to industrialization and new type of urbanization.Chapter five put forward as the guiding ideology of China' s new urban strategy for the implementation of road specific. Including the construction of new sustainable city system, the choice of new driving force and making the new relationship between urban and rural area. The purpose of this chapter is to restructure a new urbanization road with Reasonable structure, scientific power and Harmonious relationship between urban and rural areas.
