The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which is entitled the third pole on earth, is the water tower of Asia and rivers originating in here flow into various regions in Asia. The plateau is an automatic machine and amplifier of the global climatic change by human, which has great influence on the plateau region and the nation's ecological security. Besides, the plateau has a special strategic position in geography, homeland security, social stability et al., concerning the plateau region and the nation's sustainable development. Therefore, exploring a development pattern to insure the harmonious development between man and nature, ecological security in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, establishment and improvement livelihood and sustainable development capacity, developing a way of practice scientific viewpoint of development in underdeveloped areas and achieving regional sustainable development of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau have profound practical significance and far-reaching strategic significance.Around the theme of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau sustainable development, this dissertation builds a theoretical framework of sustainable development, in which the author analysis the status quo of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau regional economic development support system, social support systems, resources and environmental support system (that is, SRED system). The study proposed meaningful reference and implications for the regional policy of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The contribution of this dissertation embodiment mostly:From the point of view of theoretical model, combining the characteristics of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, modifying the PRED system to the SRED system, constructs the theoretical frame of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau sustainable development by the numbers; From the point of view of economic policy, totes the comprehensive strategy and spatial pattern for linked development of the Qinghai-Tibet railway zone for the first time, having realism direction significance in this field; From the point of view of national strategy, brings forward the construction of western ' Southern Asia Land Bridge' for the first time; From the point of view of inaugurate system, upgrades a number of meaningful reference and implications for sustainable development in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with "integrated multi-path" optimization method, which forms a system of integrated innovation.
