As a leading industry of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau area, Tourism is not only a labor-intensive industry which has a strong correlation and matches the real local conditions, but also an important economic entry point of the development of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau area. The development of the tourism industry can create a favorable external environment and provide many employment opportunities. Therefore, to develop tourism rapidly in the area where the first and the secondary industries are relatively less developed can be a good way to further economic growth.Based on the angle of the reginal economics and a large number of research results both at home and abroad,with the application of from theory to practice and the methods from general to specific, we carried out a systematic analysis together with the use of regional economic theories, industrial economics, tourism economic theory, the relevant econometric theory, And with the combination of the qualitative and quantitative analysis.We gradually selected current advantages regional and tourism characteristic products of tourism economic development of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau step by step, and identified the related factors of the impact of the economic development in local tourism, ultimately ,we put forward the overall development of tourism economy mode and location mode as well as the development of tourism-related industries model of the economic development of local tourism. And we proposed some policies and measures.Discovered by research ; the main constraints of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau characteristics of the tourism industry are:first, remote location;second, the tourist season is too concentrated;third, the concept of consciousness;fourth, a lack of he total investment of tourism, and infrastructure construction falling behind;fifth, tourism is a single product structure;sixth, the tourism market management mechanism is falling behind .To promote characteristics of the tourism industry of the development of the plateau, we must do the following;First, establish the concept of sustainable development and pay attention to the ecological environment and the protection of traditional cultural heritage. Second, establish the management system which is market-oriented and efficient. Third,widen the investment channels and achieve diversification of investment. The fourth, highlight the advantages of resource characteristics and based on branded products to achieve diversification of tourism products.
