In the past 30 years since the reform and opening up, China's economy has achieved a high annual growth rate around 10%, comprehensive national strength has been greatly enhanced, and people's livelihood has been significantly improved. At the same time, through the study of the economic development since China's reform and opening up, we find that there are two facts that can not be ignored: First, in the past 30 years, China's per capita income and productivity of labor have been increasing greatly and still remain a strong potential in growth, and in the background of that levels of economic development in various regions are significantly different, and obvious signs of narrowing the gap between them in the short term have not yet appeared. Second, with the sustained and rapid economic growth, natural resources are gradually wasted and human living environment is increasingly deteriorating, the extensive economic growth pattern and developmental model have made the consumption of resources (especially energy) jump, the environmental pollution caused by low utilization efficiency of resources is even worse, and the survival of mankind is threaten. This allows people to have an in-depth study on the factors affecting China's economic development and probe into the sustainable economic development pattern.This entire study includes seven parts: Chapter one is the introduction, pointing out the research significance and establishing the basic research ideas; Chapter two is theoretical reviews on technological innovation and regional economic development; Chapter three is the measurement of regional technological innovation capability and differentiation research, building the evaluation index system of regional technological innovation, and based on factor analysis and cluster analysis measuring and evaluating the regional technological innovation capability of Shandong Province and doing a differentiation research on the regional technological innovation capabilities of 17 prefecture-level cities in Shandong Province; Chapter four is on the measurement of the contribution of technological innovation to economic development in Shandong Province, based on the analysis of technological innovation and economic development of Shandong Province, measuring the contribution of regional technological innovation to economic growth; Chapter five is the research on the long-term equilibrium relationship between technological innovation and regional economic development, elaborating the theory of the long-term equilibrium relationship, and measuring the long-term dynamic equilibrium relationship between technological innovation and regional economic development of Shandong Province; Chapter six is the countermeasures on enlarging technological innovation to promote regional economic development, making an analysis of the constraints and favorable factors affecting economic development of Shandong Province, and giving proposals on enlarging technological innovation to promote economic development.In this paper, there are some innovations in the exploratory research: (1)Based on the nearly 10 years'data of Shandong Province, this paper measures the effects of technological innovation on its economic development; (2)An evaluation index system of regional technological innovation capability is constructed, and from the aspects of time and space, this paper makes an evaluation of the changes of regional technological innovation capability of Shandong Province; (3)From the dynamic level, this paper does a research on the relationship between technological innovation and regional economic development in Shandong Province, and focuses on the long-term dynamic equilibrium relationship between regional technological innovation and industrial economic growth.
