Study On Waterfront Landscape Of Grand Canal In Hangzhou

This thesis explores waterfront landscape of the Grand Canal (Hangzhou section), which based on the comprehensive protection of Grand Canal (Hangzhou section) as the research background, Combined with the application for inclusion in the list of world cultural heritage sites, and learning from the successful experience of comprehensive protection of the West Lake (Hangzhou). Firstly, the article analyses the comprehensive protection of Grand Canal (Hangzhou section), and bring out the research object; secondly, the article teases out the elements of waterfront landscape of the Grand Canal (Hangzhou section), which include natural elements, waterfront facilities, boat dock bridge, cultural elements and human elements, and explores the application of the elements of the waterfront landscape; finally, the article explores individualized landscape construction of waterfront landscape of Grand Canal (Hangzhou section), and set three themes—past of Canal, present of Canal and future of Canal, to express Grand Canal’s culture, landscape and ecology.
