Our Three Serious Opera Music Creation In The New Period

Ever since the new era, Serious Opera in China has boomed with the presentation of various compositions. In this paper, with the dramatic development of opera music as a point of entry, the music composition is comprehensively analyzed in three opera, Savage Land, Gray Prairie and Thunderstorm which are very successful in China.The artical consists of four chapters:Chapter1. the characteristic of music composition is analyzed in the three opera. Jin Xiang, Xu Zhanhai and Mo Fan are all composers with character, with a high pursuit in Aesthetic View, Composition View and specific methods. Meanwhile, the scenario varies as different opera, so does the style presented.Chapter2. the theatricalicality is analyzed in detail of the three opera in forms of opera music: Aria, Recitative, Ensemble, Chorus as well as instrumental music composing.Chapter3. opera consists of two structures: music structure and opera structure, the two of whom rely on each other as developing mutually. In this chapter, the three opera are analyzed in the integral dramatic thinking in music structure, the running state and the dramatic presentation of every structure unite as well as the scheduling of music and drama climax.Chapter4. image creation is the ultimate aim of opera music. Ten typical characters are selected from the three opera as a way to analyze the process the composers have created them in different ways.Though the three opera vary in theme and content as well as the time they were created and thus the style they would show, the principle of opera music composing remains the same: the theatricalicality of opera music, which is also the way differs opera music from other styles of music and the basic principle an opera composer should have mastered.
