On Russian Enterprises In Modern Harbin(1898-1926)

From the1880s’, Russia pursued a proactive Far East policy. An implementation ofthe policy was the setting up of companies in large scale after the1890s’. Mainly centeredabout Harbin area and marked by the development of financial institutions and TrafficTransportation Enterprises, this policy greatly impacted many aspects of social developmentand concerned about many fields of people’s life in the Northeast China. Meanwhile, thesocial environment of Harbin area also has an effect on the development of Russiaenterprises.The dissertation consists of nine parts:Introduction: The review on the history of learning and the inspect on the elementarytheory.Chapter1: This chapter introduces the background and development of the Russiaenterprises in Harbin in the modern times. The introduction includes a brief description ofHarbin’s social development as well as the development of the Russia enterprises in modernHarbin.Chapter2: This chapter introduces Harbin’s national enterprises in modern times. Itpresents an introduction of the affirmative enterprises of Mideast Corporation after a detailresearch on the development and management of two national enterprises (Harbin Branch ofHua’e Daosheng Bank, Middle East Railroad Corporation). Based on the introduction above,this chapter analyses the characteristics of the national Russia enterprises in Harbin area andthe impact of the enterprises on Harbin area.Chapter3This chapter introduces Russia private enterprises in modern times. Adetailed study is conducted here on the evolvement and management of several majorenterprises (including industry, commerce, finance, transportation, real estate, food&beverage and recreation) in Harbin in modern times. Based on the introduction above, thischapter analyses the characteristics of these enterprises and their impact on Harbin.Chapter4：This chapter introduces the capital of the Russia enterprises in Harbin inModern times. It analyses the sources of the capital, the major capital construction of theRussian enterprises, and the major function of the Russian business capital.Chapter5: This chapter introduces the market of Russia enterprises in modern times. Itanalyses the market sources of the Russia enterprises in Harbin area, introduces the marketsurvey of the Russia enterprises，and discusses the market characteristics of the Russiaenterprises.Chapter6: This chapter introduces the profit of the Russia enterprises in modernHarbin. It goes to an analysis on the development profit sources of the Russia enterprises inmodern Harbin, a profit survey of the private enterprises and a discussion on the essence ofthe profit.Chapter7This chapter introduces the management of the modern Russia enterprises inHarbin and the urbanization of Harbin. It analyses the management of the Russia enterprises,with the focus on the introduction of the Middle East Railroad Corporation and LinqiuCorporation, and this chapter also introduces the interaction between the management ofRussia enterprises in modern Harbin and Harbin’s urbanization. Conclusion: Based on the analysis of the causes and development of the Russiaenterprises in modern Harbin, the dissertation discusses the interaction between the Russiaenterprises in modern Harbin and the development of modern Harbin area from theperspective of capital, market, profit and management of the Russia enterprises.
