Research On Configuration Of Naxi Dongba Script In Varied Areas

Dongba Scripture is document and literature used by Dongba, priests of Naxi ethnic minority during the ceremony of Dongba Religion. And Dongba Script is a kind of writing text for Dongba to write Dongba Scripture and record Naxi language. Dongba Script is the hieroglyphs still used today, which arouses the research interests of experts from home and abroad. During the past 100 years, Dongba documents and Dongba Script have been the hot topics of philology study, meanwhile there has been many academic achievements about them. Researches on Dongba Script in varied areas during a certain period have become the important direction of present Dongba Script study. This research aims to study Dongba Script in a specific and systematic way based on the documents in different areas, and Dongba Script is directly cut from Dongba Scripture to carry out systematic and in-depth configuration study. Meanwhile, comparative research about Dongba characters in varied areas is carried out to reflect the actual situation, regional differences and relationship of configuration of Dongba Script.In this study, Dongba Scripture is investigated and collected in the areas of Baidi, Lijiang and Ludian, then related philology is carried out. There are eight chapters as follows:Chapter One is Introduction. It explains the reason and significance of research, then conducts a comprehensive survey of configuration and varied-areas research of Dongba Script, finally introduces the clues, materials, methods and styles of the research.Chapter Two is The Configuration Theory and Varied-areas Survey of Dongba Script. It surveys the configuration research of characters from the point of single character, synthetic word and composite character, then puts forward the text theory used in this paper, finally sorts out and analyses Dongba Scripture in different areas specifically.Chapter Three is Configuration Research on Dongba Script in Baidi. It introduces the Dongba culture and Dongba priests who write Dongba Scripture, then analyses and studies Dongba Script in Baidi from three ty pes of single, synthetic and composite characters.Chapter Four is Configuration Research on Dongba Script in Lijiang. It introduces the Dongba culture and Dongba priests who write Dongba Scripture, then analyses and studies Dongba Script in Lijiang from three types of single, synthetic and composite characters.Chapter Five is Configuration Research on Dongba Script in Ludian. It introduces the Dongba culture and Dongba priests who write Dongba Scripture, then analyses and studies Dongba Script in Ludian from three types of single, synthetic and composite characters.Chapter Six is Comparative Research on Configuration of Dongba Script in Varied Areas. It sorts out and conduct comparative research on Dongba characters in different areas, then focuses on the characters newly found in Baidi and Ludian, finally explores the similarities and differences of configuration in different regions and explains the reasons.Appendix One:Table of Dongba Script in Baidi.Appendix Two:Table of Dongba Script in Lijiang.Appendix Three:able of Dongba Script in Ludian.
