| Relationship between teachers and students are the most fundamental and central personal relationship during school education. The relationship is good or bad will directly influence the accomplishment of educational activities, the quality of education and the development of teacher and students. However, for a long time, under the double impact of epistemology and knowledge, teacher-student relationship is always understood to be a unilateral relationship of the knowledge giving by teachers. It is either the students ’ personality to be replaced by test and scores which resulting in students’discontent increased. Or the system ignored the needs of the teachers which led to the teachers’depression. These all have led to the tensions between students and teachers. The nature of teacher-student relationship now is obscured reality, and gradually into a kind of alienation and conflict. This alienation and conflict gives us a series of problems: what is the essence of the teacher-student relationship? What is the underlying cause of teacher-student relationship conflict? How can we grasp the nature of teacher-student relationship, so that the relations between teachers and students can be improved and developed? The Discussion of teacher-student relationship in the past is either to suppress the power of teachers, or to suppress the students’interest and independent. "Subject and Object" is the traditional tension between teachers and students’epistemological roots. In this paper, through the data query, document analysis, group interviews, and so on, based on the history of the development of teacher-and-student relations between the West and China, I found that the nature of teacher-student relationship is essentially a multi-dimensional complex which human and cultural ties. So then I started to use a new perspective - the perspective of philosophy and cultural to study the nature of teacher-student relationship, the causes of the conflict and the solution. The education is to train people; it should fundamentally concern about the people, concern about human nature. The Culture is the essence of the human being, and the world in a sense is the cultural world. Therefore, people must be studied to understand the culture. It is the only way to have a more comprehensive understanding in human beings relationship. The current Chinese society is in transition, filled with a variety of different patterns of culture. Between teachers and students, there are different cultural backgrounds and different understandings of culture. These caused to different characteristics of the formation of teacher-student relationship. To resolve the conflict in this culture, teachers and students need attention and respect, and need the joint efforts to put forward their own cultural point of view, to understand each other, to dialogue on an equal footing, and does not force anyone to change their original uphold cultural values, through above these to achieve understanding and exchanges. From the cultural perspective to study the conflict between teacher and student will let us one step closer to the harmonious development of relations between teachers and students. |
