Teacher-student relationship has always been the popular topic of Conversation for many years. Educators and researchers have written articles and books to analyze or probe into the teacher-student relationship from different angles to get it better improved between teachers and students. In 1980s, the trend of deep reflexion on culture appeared in China, people showed much concern about culture and there was a great upsurge in it. As far as higher-educational institution is concerned, culture exists everywhere. Teachers'culture and students'culture are the most important part of the college culture; they determine the college culture feature and tradition. Studying teacher-student relationship from cultural perspective is a great enrichment to the train of thought for inquiring teacher-student relationship. Such research gives us a new perspective and helps us get a further deeper comprehension about the teacher-student relationship.The thesis involves questions on cultural conflict and cultural integration from cultural perspective for the purpose that it can make some contribution to the studying on the teacher-student relationship. The first part of the thesis consists of definitions of culture, cultural conflict and cultural integration. The second part tells about the characteristic of college teacher-student relationship, which differs from other teacher-student relationship. The third part begins with the form of expression of college teacher-student cultural conflict and various conflicts are enumerated in material culture, regulation culture and spirit culture. Then it sums up the characteristics, types and causes of cultural conflict. Finally, it comments on both positive and negative value of cultural conflict. The fourth part lays stress on types and tactics of cultural integration. The results of cultural integration are also analyzed in this part. In the fifth part, through the studying on problems about cultural conflict and integration, conclusions are drawn as follows: 1. Cultural conflict is the motive power, cultural integration is the goal.2. The college teacher is the leading factor in the course of cultural conflict and integration.3. Conflicts exist among the cultural property of education, the political property of education and the economic property of education.Studying on college teacher-student relationship from cultural perspective is still on its elementary stage. Studying on teacher-student cultural conflict and integration undoubtedly gives us a wider field of vision for understanding teacher-student relationship. The studying helps us to improve the teacher-student relationship and paves the way for a better development of higher education.
