Today, the pervasiveness of visuals is abundantly obvious to even the most casual observer. There is no doubt that the whole world is changing into a visual world, and it requires higher visual literacy. Visual literacy education is becoming more and more important for the undergraduates of Educational Technology. For the great reason is that they are not only receivers, but also developers and communicators of visuals. Visual literacy course design is one of the good ways to develop undergraduates’ visual literacy in Educational Technology. Visual literacy is a wide concept, therefore, it’s necessary to consider the receivers’needs and differents kinds of visuals. And then make some choices for the visual literacy course designers. Visual literacy course aims to teach the learners "how to do" but not "what is this"The study did lots of analysis on domestic and oversea visual literacy course design including relative concepts which will be helpful for the visual literacy course design to undergraduates of Educational Technology. Because of the above analysis, the special concept for undergraduates of Educational Technology was put forward. In addition, four parts of visual literacy design was presented based on previous analysis.Firstly, identify the objectives of "visual literacy" course, including the priciples and the steps of how to identify them, and then describe the "visual literacy’" course objectives for the udergraduates of Educational Technology. Secondly, select and organize the content of "visual literacy" course, which is consist of the philosoph and the methods to select and organize the content, and then explain the two levels of the visual literacy content-"visual literacy-can you see?"and "visual literacy-can you draw?" Thirdly, assess the objectives and contents of "visual literacy" course before the course. Fourth, work out the practice framework of the "visual literacy" coure containing the direction, ways and steps of "visual literacy " course for undergraduates of Educational Technology.
