As the era of reading pictures comes, visual literacy has becomethe basic qualities required for the people in the21st century. However,according to the research, the visual literacy of high school students isdeficient., and present education doesn’t focus on cultivating visualliteracy. All these force us to pay much attention to the cultivation ofvisual literacy.In the research, survey method, literature research method,experience summing-up method and action research method arecombined. After doing some research on the present situation of visualliteracy both home and abroad, we have found that the cultivation ofvisual literacy has been raised to a high level in foreign countries, butwe just start to do it.According to the foreign experience, the writer relies on the basiccourse platform, and tries to improve students’ information literacy sothat he can achieve his teaching goals. Centering on the newteaching goals, the writer re-integrate the information technologycompulsory textbooks and try to pick out the contents about visualliteracy so that he can design his teaching again and put it intopractice. Meanwhile, the writer specially establish another two classesto help the students learn how to re-design the picture and how tomake video and sound. Based on the experience and the existingproblems summed up in the practice of multimedia teaching, thearticle will possess strong characteristics of the times and practice.
