On12th May2008, a huge earthquake struck Wenchuan, inflicting serious psychological trauma to people. Up to now, it is quite worrisome that创作后应激障碍in students in the quake stricken areas still obvious. Quite a few of them still have painful memories about the earthquake. As frequently having nightmares about collapsed houses and deceased family members, they often came awake in horror with tears all over the head. Many students refrain from talking about everything about the May12earthquake. There are also students who feel rather awful about their deceased friends, feel compunction for failing to help them, have trouble to go to sleep and easy to get irritated. Typical PTSD syndromes such as intrusion, aversion and increased vigilance can be easily found in them.Earthquake, one type of disaster trauma, easily leads to various psychological problems, among which PTSD is most common. It can also negatively harm people’s psychological and physical health, a hidden danger to the development of the quake stricken areas. Showing care for life should be the logical starting point to deal with PTSD. To show care for life, there must be two preconditions for life education. Firstly, it must proceed from individual characteristic, need and conditions. Secondly, it must conform to the development law of life, face up to the intrinsic need of life, tap the potential of life so as to guide the development of life. Psychological capital is a positive state in the process of individual growth. Rich Psychological capital, which can be cultivated, enables people to better deal with trauma. According to experience and illustration from literal research, I think life education, which aims to show care to life, can help to alleviate PTSD through accumulation of psychological capital. I thus raise hypotheses and try to approve them by field survey.This research applies various methods in areas such as the science of education, the science of psychology and the science of statistics, taking students from Wenchuan as the research objects. Using as reference and improve Luthans’ psychological capital theory, I constructed the theoretical structure and try to analyze the effect of life education on PTSD by proceeding from the constituents of psychological capital. I made analysis of the research objects by questionnaires and interviews. Using the self-made Questionnaire on the Implementation of Life Education in Quake Afflicted Areas, the revised version of Psychological Capital Measurement Table of Students in Quake Afflicted Areas and the PTSD-SS as the tool of survey, taking samples from group of people in different areas, I conducted the survey in one high school and middle school in extremely serious quake stricken areas, serious quake stricken areas and common quake stricken areas. They are Qiyi vocational school of Beichuan, a Qiang autonomous county, Yongchang Middle school of Beichuan, the First Middle school of Hanyuan Ya’An (junior high school and senior high school), the First Subsidiary Middle school of Sichuan Normal University and the Second Middle School of Zizhong County, Neijiang. I also conducted interviews with students and teachers from Qiyi vocational school of Beichuan, a Qiang autonomous county, Yongchang Middle school of Beichuan. Owing to these efforts, I uncovered the main problems in the current life education in Wenchuan and their causes. I thereby put forward suggestion and measures for education response to disasters.The main conclusions of this research are drawn as followings through real examples and practical research.Firstly, resilience, as the key to overcome PTSD, is the most important psychological factor to fight natural disaster. The total mark of psychological capital and those of individual factors are negatively correlated with the total mark of PTSD-SS and those of individual fatctors, especially remarkable on resilience of psychological capital.Secondly, the five elements of psychological capital are strongly related. The former four elements forcefully support resilience. Self felt satisfaction, optimism, hope and being thankful is positively correlated with resilience. The accumulation of the four is conducive to the accumulation of resilience Thirdly,Life education of response to quake can build up psychological capital. Routine life education has prominent influence on the psychological capital of students. The implementation of life education of response to quake should be fruitful.Fourthly, the current life education of response to quake should further be optimized and deepened. The rate of discovering PTSD of the students in the quake afflicted areas is still quite low. Problems such as insufficient attention to the culturing of resilience and insufficient implementation of curriculum still are still existing.Fifthly, life education should be promoted and implemented against the backdrop of disasters. In conception, response should avoid to become and educational tool and should return to the origin of education, which is life. In practice, we should carry out life education of response to quake and accumulate psychological capital, especially focusing on build up resilience, which is necessary to human living and development and essential to fight natural disasters.The possible contribution of this research is as the following:Firstly, based on previous analysis, the empirical statistical data processing, shown a link between life education, psychological capital, post-traumatic stress disorder, proved the effect of life education on psychological trauma after major natural disasters, life education and provides new evidence.Secondly, The possible contribution of this research is as the following:it discovers the major role played by resilience in dealing with natural disasters supported by self felt satisfaction, optimism, hope and being thankful. It argues that the core of life education of response to quake is the accumulation of psychological capital, especially resilience.Thirdly, To reflect on the problems in the current life education to carry out,through the solution of real social problems, life care of education can be realized.
