The rapid pace of knowledge-driven economy era is profoundly influencing the progress of education Informationization, the construction of learning environment, that is supported by high technology, has been given with unprecedented value and mission, as it is the foundation of the realization of teaching and learning revolution. E-learning space, as one of the core objectives and symbol projects of the construction of education informationization “12th five-year plan” in China, emerges with diverse requirements of national policy, technology development and teaching and learning revolution. As new learning form of digital learning environment, E-learning space could provide appropriate technology and personalized service for constant changing revolution and innovation of teaching and learning. It is the key point to promote the revolution of teaching and learning approaches.Junior middle school physics, as the foundational discipline of compulsory education, regards the cultivation of students’ logical thinking ability and creative thinking ability as the objective. According to research, because of the complication and abstraction of physics, information technology could effectively support teaching and learning. Therefore, the author dedicates to making contributions to the field of carrying out physics learning in junior middle school through E-learning space, exploring the design and research of E-learning space model based on junior middle school physics.This paper focuses on the design and supporting tool construction of E-learning space model for junior middle school physics. The research structure of this paper is “domain modeling-function module design-supporting tool construction-effect analysis”. Firstly, the combing and analyzing of research status and relevant theory of E-learning space has been conducted. And then, based on the value orientation and requirements analysis of E-learning space, according to the perspectives of discipline, technology and learner, the STSCS model of E-learning space for junior middle school physics has been constructed. And according to different perspectives, through the extraction of functional keywords, concrete function module and architecture of E-learning space for junior middle school physics under STSCS model has been discussed. Referring to the categories of physical knowledge, this paper built 3 types and 9 kinds of supporting tool for learning in space. Finally, through case study, the proposed STSCS model and supporting tool have been stated and valued in details.The concrete work of this paper is embodied in contents as follows:1. Through combing domestic and foreign research status and theoretical foundation of E-learning space, the problems have been found by comparing and analyzing the research lack of E-learning space. Further, the research structure and modeling dimensions have been explored.2. From theoretical level, the value orientation and influencing factors of E-learning space have been discussed. In terms of value orientation, it includes wisdom education, higher order thinking skills and personalized learning. As for influencing factors, it contains stimulation of learning motivation, good learning experience and learning community. The transformation of learning approach in E-learning space has also been studied.3. From practical level, the real requirements of E-learning space have been investigated and studied. Selecting two different objective communities from teachers and students through questionnaires and qualitative interviews. From different perspectives, like information literacy, education status of junior middle school physics, application status of current E-learning space, requirements and expectations of E-learning space and so on, reality basis of E-learning space construction has been searched.4. Based on value orientation and requirements analysis, from the perspectives of learner, technology and junior middle school physics, the design of E-learning space model for junior middle school physics(STSCS model) has been completed. Through arguing the reflecting relationships between STSCS model and different dimensions, this paper extracted the integration points and solving methods in junior middle school physics, and designed function modules of E-learning space for junior middle school physics from levels such as application of physics, supporting tool and public service platform.5. According to the designed STSCS model and function modules, tools for physical concepts and principles, tools for physical phenomena observation and tools for physical experiments observation have been designed, including 9 supporting tools, like tools for strength, light and electricity recognition, tools for phenomena explanation and tools for virtual reality experimentation.6. Taking classes of physical concepts and principles and inquiring learning classes as examples, the space model and supporting tool raised by this paper were described in details. And the effects of them were analyzed afterwards.
