Mass sports is an important part of our country sports enterprise. constant growth of people’s sports demand and inadequate public services provided by the government, is the fundamental weaknesses in the process of the sports power in our country. Citizen sports demand growth is not only the increase of the quantity, but also the existence of demand diversity, therefore, ways and means to meet the demand of citizen sports should be more flexible. Only to rationally review the advantages and disadvantages of mass sports development in our country, explore the root of the contradiction between supply and demand of mass sports, Can we promote the sustainable development of mass sports in a more scientific and reasonable way.This thesis took the mass sports development of our country as the research object, using the literature material method, interview method, field survey method, case study method, logic analysis and other research methods, reviewed the development of mass sports in China since the founding of the our country from the macroscopic angle, summarized the basic experience in the development of mass sports and induction in the form of case studies, taking development as the main line, combined the enlightenment from macroscopic research and microscopic, studied and designed the development mode of mass sports of our country the rational thinking, aimed at providing reference for the top design of mass sports future development of in our country. The main conclusions of this paper is as follows:First, since the founding of PRC, as an important part of the cause of socialism construction, Our country mass sports gradually formed the idea of sports serving the people in the long-term exploration and practice. In different period of social development, practicing the idea of serving the people through different development strategy of mass sports socialization, marketization, plan of fitness and sports public service and so on, and made great achievements. But there are also disadvantages, such as, government-led sports management restrained participatory development, the growth of sports market and distribution have defects, people’s livelihood sports "construction" content and way need to adjust.
