Empirical Research On The Education Benefits In Rural Areas In Shandong Province

Education Benefits investigates the value that education brings to a person as an investment. You can measure the degree of the impact that education brings to the individual, the others and the social. It can reflect the utilization efficiency of the educational resources, and promote the individual and the government to make a reasonable education decisions.Education can bring several kinds of benefits, among of which the market private benefits is easy to measure and analyze, so many research is conducted from this perspective. But it is not enough. Because the education benefits is externalities, and the individual taking market private benefits into consideration when making decisions. So we must make a system analyses on all the education benefits including market external benefits, non-market private benefits and non-market external benefits.This paper analyzes the four parts of education benefits meticulously based on field surveys conducted in Longkou City, Shandong Province. After the detailed analysis of education benefits of different academic level, gender differences, the type of income, education type, the paper find that the education benefits is mostly positive.After the analysis on the market private education benefits, the paper finds the fact that the benefits is higher in primary school and lower in university, lower in rural area, higher in vocational education and non-academic education than general education.After the analysis on the market external education benefits, the paper finds the fact that the level of education in Shandong province needs to be improved, the contribution rate of education to economic growth is lower than the national average, and vocational education needs to be strengthened.After the analysis on the non-market private education benefits, the paper finds the fact that the improvement of the education level can enhance the non-market private education benefits comprehensively.After the analysis on the non-market external education benefits, the paper finds the fact that in order to enhance the non-market external education benefits we should vigorously develop women education and university education.The paper carried out a detailed analysis of these problems, and put forward reasonable proposals.
