The promulgation of ISO26000, international standards of corporate responsibilityformulated by ninety-nine countries in the world in September2010declared theofficial birth of the global standards of social responsibility, and corporate socialresponsibility (refer to CSR) was promoted from the initial business philosophy tosocial responsibility international standards consequently. This not only shows that CSRis more and more brought to the attention of the international community, has beenmore widely accepted and supported in the world, and marked the competition betweenenterprises has been from the stage of ISO9000standards of quality competition, andthe stage of ISO14000standard of environment competition stage to the stage of fullresponsibility competition, the impact by assuming CSR to build on the competitivenessof enterprises has become increasingly prominent. Along with the deepening ofglobalization, the implementation of corporate social responsibility for an enterprise tooperate globally successful also will play an increasingly important role. As a result, theresearch of the relationship between CSR and corporate competitiveness, to explorehow the CSR into competitiveness, and to seek strategic path to enhance CSRcompetitiveness within the framework of the implementation of CSR, have become atpresent a hot issue extremely concerned by business circles, academia, government andthe social from all walks of life, and have important practical and theoreticalsignificance.This research mainly adopts literature research, normative analysis, case study andcomprehensive analysis, and begins with the following thinking way: review of CSRtheory-enterprise competitiveness theory carding-review of the relationship betweensocial responsibility and enterprise competitiveness-analysis of CSR competitiveness-formation mechanism and evolution model of CSR producing enterprisecompetitiveness–the inspection of the cases of CSR competitiveness achievement–path and strategy to promote and foster CSR competitiveness, aiming to clarify therelationship between social responsibility and corporate competitiveness on the basis ofcarding the theory of CSR and enterprise competitiveness, to explore how CSR istransformed into the enterprise competitiveness, to illustrate the transformationmechanism and evolvement regular pattern, and points out that enterprises should bearsocial responsibility strategically, and then put forward the cultivation and promotionpath and strategy of corporate responsibility competitiveness based on analysis and enlightenment of typical cases of successfully achieving the social responsibilitycompetitiveness.Accordingly, this thesis is divided into six chapters.Chapter One is introduction, mainly introducing the background and reason of theresearch question of this paper, research significance, research methods, research ideasand the basic framework and research innovation points. The following is body parts,namely:Chapter Two is literature review: to review CSR and enterprise competitivenesstheory, the relationship between CSR and enterprise competitiveness, summarizing thediscussion and exposition of scholars at home and abroad on CSR and corporatecompetitiveness and the relationship between them, and to elaborate the basic theory ofconstructing the system of CSR concept with accordance to the evolution of CSRconcept and connotation.Chapter Three is analysis of unification between corporate social responsibility andenterprise competitiveness: based on reviewing existing definition of CSRcompetitiveness, conduct the general and the strategic analysis on the unificationrelationship between CSR and CSR competitiveness, to points out that the strategicallyimplementing CSR has already become the one and only way for enterprises to createshared value for society and enterprises, and to enhance their competitiveness throughby performing CSR. Afterwards, put forward the understanding and definition of CSRcompetitiveness of this paper based on analyzing the essence of CSR.Chapter Four refers to the mechanism of action of CSR on enterprisecompetitiveness: based on the three competitiveness theory, from the three levels of theexternal environment, enterprise resources and enterprise capacity, illustrate themechanism of CSR producing competitiveness, and build the evolution model of CSRproducing competitiveness, clarify how and from which aspects the enterprise buildtheir competitiveness specifically by strategically bearing CSR.Chapter Five refers to the empirical research on the influence of CSR on theenterprise competitiveness. This chapter aims to apply the empirical method to analysisand illustrate the influnece of CSR and stakeholders on enterprise competitiveness. Inwhich the empirical analysis is conducted from two aspects of the mechanism model ofaction of CSR on enterprise competitiveness and stakeholders’ influence on enterprisecompetitiveness respectively by use of likert scale and panel data regression model. Theempirical research on the influence of CSR to the enterprise competitiveness is conducted mainly by use of four scale of CSR on environment-level competitiveness,resource-level competitiveness, ability-level, and then the resulting overallcompetitiveness of enterprises. In the empirical research on stakeholders’ influence onthe enterprise competitiveness, the measurement of social responsibilityis is conductedfrom the six dimensions of enterprises’ responsibilities to employees, shareholders,suppliers, creditors, the government and to the customer according to the stakeholdertheory, the measurement of the competitiveness of enterprises is based on the researchof Jin Bei and the consideration of the enterprise size, age as well as the nature, and thenanalyze and demonstrate the influence of CSR on enterprise competitiveness by use ofpanel data model.Chapter Six refers to empirical studies of CSR cases: taking examples to illustratefulfilling CSR can enhance CSR competitiveness, pointing out that the enterprise canexpand their core business, promote their reputation and social image, boostproductivity, and increase their competitive advantage.Chapter Seven refers to the path and strategies of fostering and enhancing CSRcompetitiveness: based on the strategic management, economics, management, ethics,sociology, law and other disciplines theory, from the view of the macro-level,meso-level and micro-level, put forward the path and strategies of fostering andenhancing CSR competitiveness through by the dynamic collaboration amonggovernment, society, enterprises.The innovation point of this paper is mainly concentrated in the following aspects:1. From the three levels of the external environment, enterprise resources andenterprise capacity, make a thorough inquiry the mechanism of CSR producingcompetitiveness from the external environment, enterprise resources and enterprisecapacity three levels to explore the mechanism of corporate social responsibility formthe enterprise competitiveness, and build the evolution model of the CSR producingcompetitiveness.2. Clarify how and from which aspects the enterprise build their competitivenessspecifically by strategically bearing CSR, to guide the enterprise bring the selection andimplementation of CSR into the strategic plan, to make the CSR support the enterprise’score business and create value for enterprises, and improve enterprise’s competitiveability.3. Based on the strategic management, economics, management, ethics, sociology,law and other disciplines theory, put forward the trinity dynamic collaborative path and strategy to foster and enhance CSR competitiveness.4. By using the form of panel data model, and combining the relevant socialresponsibility of the empirical case, expound and verify the impact of corporate socialresponsibility on corporate competitiveness, makes the thesis of this study morecredibility.
