The Studies Of Category Of Text In Russian Science Fiction

Category reflects and generalizes the common attribute of the objective things,phenomenon and essence attribute, which condenses the achievements of the scientificunderstanding that people obtain on the basis of the practice. It is also the starting pointfor people’s further understanding. Each specific subject has its own unique categories.Category of text is actually a system of categories, whose inner categoriescorrespond with certain nature of the text and contain specific means of expression.Based on the “Reflection Principle” Russian text linguistics proposed a series ofcategories of text. For instance, categories of space and time, the foundation of text;participant category, the start of observation and description and the essentialcomponent of the space of text; category of events (events, process, facts and so on), themain embodier of text dynamic characteristics; category of evaluation, a categoryaffiliated to other categories which enables the text to fully express author’s writingintension. Here, we discuss on what basis we classify the category of text and applythese categories into the text analysis of Russian fiction.The category of text of Russian fiction has following characteristics:1. Time is notflow at a constant speed all the time. As is required by the plot, it may shift, fracture,dislocate, and even reverse;2. The space, whose boundary is not solid, has a distinctdifference between reality and unreality. Space travels are frequent. Mirror and lens arealways the place where space travels happen;3. Event category is mainly embodied byevent predict, process predict and fact predict;4. Participants, both communicativeparticipants and scene participants, can be human or nonhuman;5. Sensory evaluationand emotional evaluation are most outstanding in a variety of evaluation.
