China and Japan has a long and complicated history. To some extent,Japanese Communists were the master that Chinese communists learned from.During late 19th and early 20th century, compared to Soviet,France,Japan was the main channel that brought Marxism into China.Soviet and France, limited by geological factors, language differences and political lockdown, had much less impact on Chinese Marxism than Japan did.Past history studies in China always overlooked the importance of Japan's early impact on spreading Marxism in China. In recent years, although increasing number of studies started focusing on the relationship between Japanese and Chinese communist, most of them were limited on researching how Japan brought Marxism to China and its impact. This essay will try to uncover the reason why in Japan, the very first country in Asia that introduced and propagated Marxism, the national guiding ideology failed to integrate Marxism and the socialist revolution did not succeed, while by contrast,China, being the student of Japan in learning Marxism, rapidly became the master and fan the Marxism 'spark' into flame. This paper contains 5 chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the basis, background and research methodology used in this paper.Chapter 2 Section 1,through the illustration of the domestic and international background of Japan and China during the late 19th and early 20th century, reaches the conclusion that China and Japan were facing similar Bourgeoisie revolution goal.Section 2 and 3,through the analysis of the individual domestic environment of Japan and China, concludes that aside from Japan and China's common goal of anti-capitalist anti-feudalism,Chinese communist also bear the mission of fighting the invasion from imperialism.Chapter 3 and 4 starts from studying the traditional logic of communism party history, introduces the individual progress, characteristics and representatives during the early propagation of Marxism in Japan and China. The broad context of the development of communist party and two countries' differences in ideology, organization and general population basis both shows that Japanese communist have natural advantages in success comparing to Chinese communist.Chapter 5 summaries previous 2 chapters and focuses on the how Marxism got into China from Japan in the Section 1.In Section two,the paper will analyze the reasons why Chinese communist failed in the history, being the overpower of Japanese militarism, the incomplete communism revolution and the over dependent on international communist.Section 3,through the analysis of how Chinese communist seized the right opportunities, insisted on the path of autonomy and rely on the union formed by proletariats and patriots, finds out the root reason of the great success of socialist revolution in China.Through the comparison between the failure of Japanese communist and the great success of Chinese communist, the paper arrives at the conclusion that,in the era of globalization, with the remain of "Cold War" ideology, while the new liberalism impacting our modern society,Chine should support the leadership of Chinese communist, unit people from different national regions and keep building the"Chinese-style" socialism.
