The education value of geography discipline,a teaching course,is regarded as a kind of effect of meeting student's development demands.Its fulfillment is an important purpose of geography teaching.This paper is studying the characteristics and content of the education value of geography discipline from the perspective of value philosophy.The author probes into different types and levels of the value of geography,creating a value system of geography as a teaching course.Based on the data collected from geography teaching practice,the author comes up with certain strategies to optimize the current teaching mode.This paper is divided into following parts:In the introduction part,the author mainly introduces the background information and significance of this paper,offers explanations of several relevant concepts,points out the major problem this paper tries to solve and reveals the basic ideas,research methods and basic framework for writing.The first chapter is literature review.In this part,the author studies relevant works about subject value and classroom teaching.These works have their value and problems.After studying them,the author is able to clear certain doubts and makes sure the study in this paper is going in the right direction.In chapter two,the topic is the nature and function of geography discipline.The education value of one subject is determined by its study subject,research method and thinking mode.It is geography's special features and thinking mode that make its education value so unique.Geography is a combination of both nature and social science.Its study subject includes not only natural elements of the earth's surface system but also certain social factors.So there is no wonder that the study method of geography employs methods from both sides.All this gives geography advantages in understanding this complex world.Synthetic thinking and spatial thinking are crucial in learning geography.By mastering them,the students can study this world from a unique perspective.In order to obtain the core literacy of geography,the students must have the key skills and required qualities by studying the course,and this is vital to the education value of geography discipline.In the third chapter,the author is focusing on constructing the education value system of geography,which is the key system of this paper.The connotation and extension of the education value of geography discipline is deeply analyzed from the perspective of value philosophy.The value of geography discipline is complex,it's objective yet also subjective,it's individualistic yet also collective,it's historic yet also developmental.In order to understand the connotation of the value of geography discipline,it's necessary to comprehend the relation and difference between scientific value and education value,general value and unique value,individual value and social value.The education value of geography can be divided into cognitive value,moral value and aesthetic value,they can fulfill the students' need to seek truth,virtue and beauty respectively.Also in this chapter,by studying the uniqueness of the study subject,research method and thinking mode of the geography discipline,the author is able to look deep into certain details regarding the cognitive value,moral value and aesthetic value.In the fourth chapter,the author mainly examines the current geography teaching situation from the point of discipline value,in order to offer useful information to optimize the classroom teaching strategies.In the beginning of this chapter,the author first creates the "theoretical framework of value realization of geography discipline",and then consults the experts through Delphi method.Based on the advices from the expert,the framework is revised and improved.In the end,the author develops relevant observation scale and questionnaire under the theoretical framework.The observation scale is mainly used to observe the teachers'behavior during classes,the questionnaire is focused on studying the knowledge students get.The author discovers the successful experience and major problems of current geography teaching in the aspect of realizing the education value by studying 3 course videos and 4600 questionnaires.Through analyzing these materials,the author obtains important data to improve the geography teaching methods.The key point of chapter five is to come up with the strategy to realize the education value of geography discipline in the classroom.Based on the research results in chapter three and four,the author selectively introduces some specific ideas to improve the performance in the classroom.When it comes to realize cognitive value,this paper emphasizes on conceptual assimilation,task-driven learning,decision-making teaching and spatial-temporal evolution;role-play simulations and moral discussion are mentioned in the aspect of realizing moral value;aesthetic value's realize has connection with origin of natural landscape and origin of cultural landscape.In the final chapter,summarization and reflection is made.The author summarizes the creative ideas in theory and practice,and discusses the imperfections of the study in this paper.
