Study On PE Teacher's Curriculum Execution Capacity

As the ultimate executor of PE curriculum reform policy, their comprehensive quality and professional competence are the key of successfully advance of PE curriculum reform. This paper used literature,interviews, surveys and other research methods to discuss theory and system of content structure from PE teacher's curriculum executiion capacity, construct PE teacher's curriculum executive capacity model,and analyze deeply the influencing factors and ways of promoting. The study gained the following conclusions:First, the connotation of PE teacher' s curriculum executive capacity experienced the evolution from single to multiple , from simple to complex,from passive to active , from shallow to deep .And the evolution shows the obvious periodical characteristics:1949-1992: it is the phase of mechanical execution with the "fidelity" , and based on the teaching idea of “three basic teaching" . 1993 - 2000 :it is the transitional phase from mechanical execution to dynamic execution with the“Suitability”,based on the idea of "comprehensive development" . Since 2001: it is the innovation execution phase with the "innovative",base on the idea of “personality development".Second, the characteristics of PE teacher's curriculum executive capacity are historical inheritance , developmental , professional ,comprehensive and practical. The value lies in : it is the guarantee for the implementation effective truly of PE curriculum policy ; it is the fundamental driving force of the PE curriculum development; it is the key elements to promote the comprehensive development of students 'physical and mental; are the important content of PE teacher's professional development .Third, one dimension of the system for content and structure about PE teacher's curriculum executive capacity includs 3 parts as PE curriculum understanding, the operational capacity and evaluation capacity. Two dimensions includes 8 factors : PE curriculum consciousness,the understanding for PE curriculum standards,the ability of selecting and developing PE curriculum content , the ability of designing for PE teaching , the ability of PE teaching implementation ,the ability of evaluating for student's sports Learning, for PE curriculum program and self-evaluation .By building the structural equation modeling of the content and structure, the results show that in this study the system of PE teacher' s curriculum executive capacity is reasonable.Fourth, the factors affecting PE teacher's curriculum executive capacity includes own and external ones .The External factors as the institutional , curriculum policy itself , the management system , the leadership for PE curriculum from the principal , PE equipment and facilities as well as the culture of PE curriculum executive in the school are the main .The own factors for PE teachers as educational beliefs,teaching habitus , attitudes and the Professional quality are secondary.Fifth, it should improve the curriculum execution capacity of PE teacher's by optimizing the knowledge structure to accelerate professional development, enduing PE teacher the right of curriculum decision to stimulate their initiative ; strengthening the communion from curriculum expert, policy makers and front-line PE teachers; creating the culture contributing to PE curriculum executition; establishing reasonable evaluation mechanism for PE teacher's performance and formulating “local (school) PE and heath curriculum implementation plans” in the process of PE curriculum reform .
