China,as a multi-national country,has witnessed unique and precious cultural wealth created by each of its nations in the long-term process of formation and development.These unique cultural resources have made due contributions to promoting the social and cultural progress of the country.Each culture contains valuable experience about interaction of their individuals with the natural environment,others and themselves in the hundreds of years.This kind of experience interprets the human life in a special manner in various aspects.Therefore,each kind of culture is exclusive and irreplaceable in our understanding of the being “human”,and only with deep understanding of “human” can we promote the progress of the human society and the happiness of the individual life.The human individuals learn the events which their predecessors have experienced through the meaningful cultural symbols,utilize the achievements of their predecessors,and take such events and results as the knowledge to guide their actions.Growing up in different cultural patterns,the individuals may show different features in their living style,value orientation and thinking mode.These features are centrally embodied in the cultural self of an individual.It is the cultural self of each individual that shapes and regulates the behaviors of each individual.Moreover,the cultural self is closely linked to the formation of personality traits and socialization of individuals.This Research will focus on the “moral good” in the village culture and the educational activities related to it because the complex relationship between the change of the social structure and the people make it necessary to conduct researches on the self,the ethical self is the most important part of the entire self structure,and the moral kernel is “moral good”.This Research on the “education of moral good” in a Tibetan village is originated from the three considerations that follow.First,the “moral good” is the kernel of the moral life of people.The “moral good” is a widely-used word about moral.For one thing,it refers to certain “facts” that actually exist and are of great significance in practice,and the “moral good” indicates people's shared understanding of certain “facts”.For another,people live their moral life,to a large extent,around the word “moral good” which is the kernel of our daily ethical idea and moral value system.The process in which the “moral good” of a culture is horizontally transmitted and historically inherited is also the process in which people maintain their moral and spiritual completeness.This is also the process of the “education of moral good” in this Research.Second,the unique approach of coping with moral dilemma in the Tibetan culture and its value will be explored.The culture we live in has many behavior patterns associated with the “moral good”,and these patterns are continuously earning people's recognition and application.The basic cause is for the purpose of meeting the various body and spiritual needs of people.To be specific,these behavior patterns constitute an approach for people to respond to their own moral dilemma.The people in the village involved in this Research have unique understanding of the “moral good” and the behavior patterns incurred therefrom considering their unique heaven-earth system and cultural eco-environment.This kind of uniqueness has important research value either for us to understand in depth the moral experience of the people or for our pursuit of meaning and fullness of life.Third,the “non-cramming” education strategy in the social education serves as a reference for moral education in schools.Why the “education of moral good” in the village can effectively promote the moral growth of the people is inseparably connected with the spontaneous and “non-cramming” education approach.This imperceptible education approach conforms not only to the law of moral education but also to the moral growth rules of the people.The Research holds that the “moral good” roots ultimately in the human nature of a person.Everyone has felt the requirement for “moral good” which has been recognized by all human societies.Nevertheless,the “moral good” which roots in human nature still requires continuous cultivation and sublimation,and education plays an irreplaceable role in this process.In the specific “education activities of moral good”,the “moral good”,as the content of education,needs culture as its carrier,and furthermore,the cultural inheritance also needs the “moral good” as its kernel.The culture and the “moral good” are interdependent.The cultural symbol carrying the “moral good”,as a whole,acts on the concrete individuals,and shapes the unique cultural self of individuals,and the individuals having such cultural self will further participate in the new round of “education of good”,so that the entire moral and cultural space in the village can be reproduced and passed on.This Research initiates full and deep exploration into the moral good in a unique cultural case and the education approach thereof through entire investigation into the thoughts and ideas and the living style of people in a Tibetan village.The specific thinking paths of the research consist of the following five aspects.First,integral investigation is carried out on the culture of the village for the case study to summarize the three existence forms of the “moral good” in the daily lives of the individuals in the village.The three existence forms are help,protection and respect.Then,preliminary analysis is conducted on connotations of different existence forms of the “moral good” and the subject-object relationship therein.Second,deep analysis is carried out on how the “moral good”in the village is integrated into the specific education activities,and what features the “education activities of moral good” have displayed in terms of their connotations and structures.Third,the principle or mechanism on how the “education of moral good” shapes the self of individuals in the whole village is tentatively constructed on the basis of investigation and analysis.The specific contents include understanding of the ideological background,interpretation of the action principle by which the two major cultural spaces support the “education of moral good” in the village at the macro level,and interpretation of the dynamic mechanism which supports running of the “education of moral good” in the cultural psychology of individuals at the micro level.Fourth,the specific connotations and features of the self of individuals in the whole village shaped by the “education of moral good” are summarized and sorted out.At last,the living state that produces happiness and its education realization approach are conceived to respond to the assumption at the preliminary stage of the Paper,namely the proposition that the “education of moral good” is critical to promoting happiness of individuals.This Research mainly has the following contents: 1.existence forms of “moral good” in the village;2.structures and features of the “education of moral good” in the village;3.analysis on shaping action of the “education of moral good” on the village culture and its specific connotations;4.uncovering of the principle or mechanism by which the “education of moral good” shapes individuals.This Research is specifically implemented in the following three steps: the first step is to sort out the connotations related to the “moral good” in the self structure.First,the relationship between the “moral good” and the self is analyzed;then the connotations and features of the cultural self generated under the effect of the “education of moral good” is sorted out;and at last,the logical relevance among the culture,the self,the behavior patterns and the “education of moral good” is revealed.The second step is to investigate into and analyze the case.In the investigation,the approach in which individuals are taken as the research objects to discuss the moral construction process is applied to understand the meaning system of the village culture,to extract the various behaviors and symbols that take the moral good as the carrier in the village culture,and then to present these materials in the form of oral history.This process shows how important the field work conducted by the researchers in the long term is to the condition of the “education of moral good”.The third step is to interpret and solve the major problems in the Paper.By exploring the process of the “education of moral good”,the Research reveals the interaction mechanism among the moral good,the education and the self,and on that basis,further probes into the significance of the “education of moral good” and its meaning to the happiness of people.This Research enables people to rediscover the moral form,as a part of social composition,implied in the human culture and the core connotation therein-life meaning and social value of the “moral good”.It is also the goal which this Research strives to achieve.The final conclusions of this Research can be summarized as follows: 1.All the contents in the village culture is inherited with the “moral good” as its kernel,and in other words,the axis in the village culture is the “moral good”;2.The process of interaction between the cultural symbol and the people is the process in which the self of people is shaped and grows.This process enables continuous inheritance of the moral good in the village culture and further enables reproduction of the unique cultural self among individuals of every generation.The shared values of community members in the village are also formed in the process of the “education of moral good”,thus creating equal relationship between people and people,virtuous interpersonal relationship among people and harmonious coexistence between people and animals;3.The world of life being and the world of supernatural being endow the “education of moral good” with the specific contents and unique manifestations.4.In the village community,the “education of moral good” is supported by both macro cultural structure(view of life,view of the world and view of causation)and micro individual status(concept,feeling and will).The general consensus on value in the national culture is the fundamental basis to preserve the moral good through various symbols including language,rites,folk songs,dances,buildings,work and the daily life process;integration and practice of the “moral good” through little things in the daily life and the words and deeds of the surrounding people are the primary sources for people's understanding of the “moral good”.People can internalize “moral good” and create common moral principles in the society.In conclusion,education is not only about the dominant school education,but also exists in the community members' behaviors and various culture symbols in the village.It is especially true to the moral growth of people.
