Intergenerational Poverty,mainly triggered by the insufficient competences of the poverty-stricken people,stands in the way of China's lifting its people out of poverty.Against such a backdrop,there has emerged the Initiative of Poverty Alleviation by Means of Education.Education serves as a crucial way to curb intergenerational poverty by alleviating the constraints brought by poverty to teenagers and improving their competences to guard against poverty so as to eradicate the vicious circle of poverty.This dissertation takes the methodology of case study,questionnaire survey and interview.Non-profit organizations in the education sector are the objects of this study.Researches and analysis have been carried out on how the public service communication in education cubs the intergenerational poverty in Chongqing.The dissertation also illustrates the status quo of the public service communication in education in Chongqing.First-hand information is obtained by field investigations including the interviews with teachers,parents and the “left-behind” children.At the same time,the study has specified the types and modes of the public service communication in the realm of education,enabling related practices to be guided and supporting the public service communication in education theoretically and practically.The introduction part presents the thesis of the study and its background with a literature review on studies both at home and abroad as well as an elaboration on the approaches,methodology and significance of the study and work out research pattern.Chapter one defines Ways of the Public Service Communication in Education to Curb the Intergenerational Poverty and presents the relevant function.It also explains three core concepts: educational NGO,nonprofit communication in education,definition of and analysis on curbing poverty with public service communication and on type of function of the Public Service Communication in Education to Curb theIntergenerational Poverty.Chapter two analyzes the approaches taken by the public service communication in education to curb intergenerational poverty.The approaches are pointed out including donations for education,dispatching teachers to backward areas to help develop education,being a companion to one to provide psychological comfort as well as integrating education,science and technology.Analysis has been conducted on the process and mechanism of the role played by the public service communication in education to curb intergenerational poverty.Chapter three focuses on the status quo of how the public service communication in education curbs the intergenerational poverty.Taking the public service communication in Chongqing for instance,the characteristics and problems of the efforts to curb intergenerational poverty by public service communication in education are elaborated.Building on this,the functions of public service communication in education are categorized into four types,i.e.the philosophy promoting,being a companion to one to provide psychological comfort,keeping a sound mental rationality and making technologies available to all.Building on the researches on the non-profit organizations in the education sector in Chongqing,the deficiencies and constraints are pointed out in terms of the public service communication in curbing the intergenerational poverty.Introspection is conducted on insufficient awareness of public service brands,qualities at various levels,sentimental promotions or campaigns.Chapter four measures the effect of the public service communication in curbing the intergenerational poverty.Quantitative approach is taken to design the model and analyze the variations.The effects of the public service communication in education in curbing the intergenerational poverty are analyzed in terms of child development,parents,constraints,etc.Chapter five optimize the way of thinking and approach to develop the public service communication in education to curb intergenerational poverty.An innovative approach is pointed out by the study i.e.attaching great importance to the long-term effects of curing intergenerational poverty;Taking the Internet technologies to approach the public service communication in education;strengthening the awareness of public service communication brands in the education sector and establishing the cloud data pool for the public service communication in education.At the same time,the study alsoputs forward with new ideas to push forward the efforts to curb intergenerational poverty by the public service communication in education.The conclusion and prospect part summarizes the dissertation.First,non-profit organizations in the education sector should be further developed and should be given full play with the help of related policies.Second,Internet should be applied to the public service communication so as to ensure the technology to carry out public service communication in education sector.The general public is encouraged to take part in,given that there is a cultural need for enhancing public service communication.From the perspective of improving the education penetration,audio resources should be made full use of.
