Social Network Analysis Of Community Tourism In National Forest Park

The essence of community forestry is community participation.The procedure is followed by bottom-up public participation.It emphasized the community to be autonomous and participate voluntarily and build the collaborative partnership with government.Good social relation will help the formation of partnership,boost the community affair,and construct the stable social structure,while stable social structure will create stable social relations,both are cause and effect.Social network analysis is applied as a scientific method to explore the relationship inside the social structure and can boost the community participation.Using the methodolgy of cae study,content analysis,and information from 30 interviewers,the study is focus on the analysis of whole structure,dyadic and individual level of community tourism in Yangmingshan National Forest Park and the result will provide the National Forestry Administration to establish the partnership with the community and make the decision of the collaboration with the communities for the forest resources management.Three aspects of the social network were studied and the results were shown as followed.Firstly,on the individual and dyadic network analysis,the network centrality is to compare the degree,closeness and betweenness of the 3 networks.The results show that except the closeness of private network,the relations between the 3 networks are dominant,especially in community affair and community tourism participation.About correlation of the 3 networks,the result shows that the relations with community tourism are dominant except the closeness of private network.It will be easier to participate through an experienced community,no matter resource acquiring or information resource.And the influence analysis is to analyze the actor's influence on others,the higher one own more resource and information and has more influence on others.As a whole,actor 11,12,14 and 18 are more influence actors in the community network.Secondly,on the social network analysis of community actor's network aspect,in multiple structure analysis of 3 networks,the position and role were recognized through the block model and social distance.On private network,the core leaders are over 61 years old.It means in private affair network the senior are more reliable and usually asked for help to solve the private problems.On the community affair network,the whole social distance is very close and most of the core leaders are more than 41 years old.It means the community leaders are younger and full of energy to community affair service.The heterogeneity is high in community tourism network that means the difference of individual can bring different perspectives and resources to the community and show diverse and active leadership.Thirdly,according to the density,centrality and QAP regression analysis of the 3 networks,the community forestry network has the highest density,second is community affair network,and the lowest one is private affair network.It means that actors are more active on community tourism and resources conservation than on community and private affairs.Second,from the network centrality,the highest one is community affair.It means that resources are controlled by some individual actors.From the QAP regression,the independent variables are private network and community affair network,and community tourism network as dependent variable,the regression result shows that the relations of private and community affair networks on with community tourism are dominant.The dissertation has two innovative points,as followed:Firstly,on research perspective in community forestry and national forest parks,the dissertaion draw on social network analysis theory in sociology,and break the existing research in multi-community actors focusing on individual research,and ignored the interaction between actors in the community,as well as the impact between each other.Therefore,the dissertation analyzed the characteristics,relationships,interactions for the various actors in national forest park community tourism,from the perspective of community actors' network structure.Secondly,the disseration built the analysis framework for social network analysis of community tourism in national forest parks,depending on three dimensions,the network centrality,the network correlation,and the network influence,and so on,from three levels about ego-centric,socio-centric,and dyadic level.However,the material collected in this study was derived from the snowball approach for 30 actors involved in community tourism.Although information was enough to analyze the participation in community tourism in naitonal forest parks,it is insufficient for the statistical analysis.So,this was the first inadequacies of the study.Then,this study only focused on ocial networks analysis about participation in community tourism in Yangmingshan National Forest Park,the relationship for other social networks and the upper social structure was not involved.Then,for the survey for the samples about 30 people interviewed,a snowball approach was adopted to interview the enthusiastic respondents about other actors involved in the access to community tourism,which caused that the network boundary did not include all community residents.Therefore,it could not fully understand the views of the residents of the community as a whole community forestry,and only focus on the network relationship in community tourism in Yangmingshan National Forest Park.This is the second inadequacies of the study.
