Evaluation On Landscape Resources,Environment And Sustainable Development In Qinghai Lake National Geopark And Its Neighbouring Area

Qinghai Lake National Geopark is located in Qinghai province which is at the north-east brink of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Being a top-notch scenic spot of Qinghai province,Qinghai Lake National Geopark possesses a wide scope of tourist resources and takes a significant ecological position.Special ecological environment,biodiversity as well as ample geoheritage in earth's evolution make Qinghai Lake a focal point attracting many experts' attention.Nevertheless,the systematic research on Qinghai Lake is still at a primary level from the perspective of geoparks' sustainable development.Based on the study of geology,ecology,geography and tourism,jointly using research methods like documentary analysis,RS analysis,comparative analysis,expert evaluation,questionnaire survey,analytic hierarchy process,and applying the concept of sustainable development to the study of geopark' sustainable development situation,this paper deals with several aspects with regard to the sustainable development of Qinghai Lake National Geopark such as the assessment of tourist resources,the present ecological condition and existing problems,the ecosystem service function,the development of tourism and local community.The major achievements are as follows:1.Qinghai Lake National Geopark has a wide range of typical geoheritage,fusing lakes,rivers,wetlands with deserts and possessing miscellaneous tourist resources like wildlife,historical sites,local traditional customs,religious rituals,festival-celebrating ceremonies,etc.According to the comparative analysis,it's self-evident that Qinghai Lake has a great advantage in the abundance of tourist resources.In the process of quantitative evaluation,the lake,the wildlife,the desert and the historical sites are assessed as the 4 foremost tourist resources that are scored over 8.5.Bird Land of Qinghai Lake ranks first according to the evaluation of the scenic spots in the park,Erlangjian scenic spot the second,Shadao Island scenic spot the third and Xiannvwan scenic spot the fourth.2.According to the RS analysis from 2000 to 2015,the ecological condition of Qinghai Lake National Geopark is improving,while the environmental issue remains and the ecological environment is relatively vulnerable with deteriorating desertification in some regions.Travel&tourism and human activities remain major threats to the environment of Qinghai Lake.3.The evaluation system of ecosystem service function of Qinghai Lake National Geopark is established by combining the ecosystem service function with the geopark building for the first time in western regions of China.The analytic result indicates that the index of ecosystem service function is 4.2772 in Qinghai Lake National Geopark,of which environment regulation scoring 2.0073,the protection of geoheritage and ecosystem 1.2588,the value for scientific research and science popularization 0.4393,function for travel&tourism 0.3148,function for bolstering economy 0.1679,material production 0.0891.It's easy to tell from the figures that more efforts should be made to improve Qinghai Lake's service function for science popularization,travel and tourism,and stimulation of local economy.4.On the basis of the study of man-land relationship and man-man relationship of Qinghai Lake National Geopark,a model(i.e.PTC model)which allows the harmonious and sustainable development of ecosystem and environment,travel and tourism and the local community is raised,so are some concrete measures to protect tourist resources andenvironment.Taking the survey result of tourists' attitudes and opinions into consideration,some proposals of improving the local tourism are as follows: expanding the tourist market and boosting the marketing and trade in scenic spots,developing diverse products related to tourism,instructing tourists to protect the environment and ecosystem of scenic spots as well as speeding the construction of local infrastructure and interpretation system.Based on the questionnaire survey on residents of local community,a suggestion is made to allow more local residents to participate in the tourism and develop their yards to accommodate tourists with services providing to them to experience agritainment and local customs.
