Summary Of Professor Liu Baohou's Academic Viewpoint And Research On Clinical Efficacy Of The Method Of Warming Kidney And Invigorating Spleen And Discharging Turbid Dampness For Patients With CRF

Objective:To research the basic connotation of clinical medicine of combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine of professor Liu baohou.and sum up the experience of professor Liu baohou about making a diagnosis and giving treatment to chronic renal failure(CRF).To observe the clinical efficacy of Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction for patients with CRF of deficiency of spleen and kidney yang and turbid dampness by objective assessment for index of correlation to chronic renal failure,and expect to offer a relative efficacy,simple and inexpensive method to treat CRF.Methods:A total of 80 patients with CRF of deficiency of spleen and kidney yang and turbid dampness from the Chinese medicine department of Lanzhou university second hospital were allocated stratified randomized block sampling designed control group(n=40)and trial group(n=40).The control group underwent the routine western treatment,while the trial group underwent the western routine treatment plus taking orally warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction,and enema administration with traditional Chinese medicine.The treatment was conducted once daily in 90 days.Serum usea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(Scr),glomerular filtration rate(GFR),haemoglobin(HGB),Cystatin C(CysC),and blood fat were assayed on the first day(baseline)and on the 90th day.TCM symptom scores were assayed by scale of TCM symptom score on the first day(baseline)and on the 90th day.Data were analyzed and the results were compared by T-test,Rank-sum test and Chi-square test by SPSS22.0.Results(1)There was an significant decrease in TCM symptom scores in both group on the 90th day compared with baseline(P<0.05,P<0.01),meanwhile,TCM symptom scores in trial group was lower than that of control group on the 90th day(P<0.01).The improvement of limb edema,soreness and weakness of waist and knees,aversion to cold,anorexia,mental exhaustion,shortness of breath,and night urine clear long,fat tongue with white fur,squamous and dry skin,ecchymosis in tongue in trial group has an advantage over that in control group(P<0.05).(2)There was an significant decrease in the contents of serum of BUN,Scr and CysC,glomerular filtration rate(GFR),total cholesterol(TC)and low density lipoprotein(LDL)in both group on 90th day compared with baseline(P<0.05,P<0.01),meanwhile,the content of these indexes in trial group was lower than that of control group on 90th day(P<0.05).(3)Clinical total effective rate was respectively 87.5%and 62.5%in trial and control group,and the trial group has an advantage over the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction could improve the CRF patients' clinical symptom,such as limb edema,soreness and weakness of waist and knees,aversion to cold,anorexia,mental exhaustion,shortness of breath,and night urine clear long etc,and improve the life quality of patients.(2)Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction could decrease the serum content of BUN,Scr and CysC,and improve glomerular filtration rate(GFR)of patients with CRF.(3)Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction could decrease the total cholesterol(TC)?triglyceride(TG)and low density lipoprotein(LDL)in different degree.(4)Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction could improve the level of serum HGB to correct the anemia.(5)Liu Baohou's experience of determining the large dosage of Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata according to the tongue characteristics proved to be safe and effective.In conclusion.Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction could relieve clinical symptoms,regulate the index of renal function,regulate lipid metabolism,and correct the anemia,and postponed proceeding of renal damage.So Warming kidney and invigorating spleen and discharging turbid dampness decoction is effective prescription for CRF.
