The hollow three-legged ware,gradually emergence throughout Loess Plateau during China's Longshan Period around the third millennium BC,indicated the major revolution of archaeological culture happened at that time.Founded in the Dawenkou Culture in the Huai River basin in the lower Yellow River,hollow three-legged ware achieved great progress on the Loess Plateau in the west of Taihang Mountains,which triggered a series of great changes in the archaeological culture of this area.From the perspective of pottery,this thesis divides the Loess Plateau in Longshan Period into six regions.Based on taking the 14 archaeological cultures and related remains within the six regions as the research objects,the development of archaeological cultures of Loess Plateau in Longshan Period was analyzed,so as to conduct a complete research on the cultural evolution of Loess Plateau in the Longshan Period.The introduction defines the time and space of the study,clarifies the research object,reviews the history researches,and proposes the research task.From the perspective of hollow three-legged ware,Chapter 1-6 start with implements combination and the revolution relations.In this way,the typical units into remains are grouped,the entire site is divided into sections,the staging research is carried out on the entire archaeological culture based on the section of typical site,and then the archaeological culture of a region is chronologically studied.According to this method,the development sequence of Jingcun Culture,Dongguan Culture and Sanliqiao Culture in the western Henan Province and southern Shanxi Province during Longshan Period is selected as the age scale of Loess Plateau in Longshan Period.With reference to this scale,the discussion is performed on the archaeological cultures,as well as ages and natures of related remains in Weihe River basin,Central and Northern Shanxi,Northwest Heibei,Northern Shaanxi,central and southern Inner Mongolia region,and Gansu and Qinghai regions.All these aim to improve the chronology of the archaeological culture in various regions of the Loess Plateau during Longshan Period,and explore the development sequence of archaeological culture.Based on the chronological study of 14 archaeological cultures and related remains,Chapter 7 improves and constructs the time and space framework of the Loess Plateau in Longshan Period,and divides the Loess Plateau in Longshan Period into early and late stages.By focusing on the pedigree relationship of 14 archaeological cultures,Chapter 8 divides the Loess Plateau in Longshan Period into five “family cultural areas” and three “historical cultural areas”.On this basis,the interaction of different stages of archaeological cultures between the same and different pedigrees is analyzed,and their cultural patterns are explored.In chapter 9,the conclusion is drawn to make certain achievements.
