In the era of economic globalization,each country’s international economic and trade exchanges have become increasingly deepening.The development indicator of a eountry’s foreign trade and economy tends to drive the country’s global influence index.After years of sharpening,especially since the reform and opening up,China,with the rapid development of foreign trade,has become the world’s largest trading nation,but not the trade power.Competition in the intermational trade field is more and more intense,and the competition will eventually appear as the competition for talents,especially high-quality professional talents competition.In our universities and colleges,the international economic and trade specialties are always the largest ones,having a large scale professional graduates.The study of the profession is of important practical significance and value.At present,under the employment pressure,many application oriented universities with international economic and trade specialities have changed their personnel training in order to improve the students’ employability.However,our international economic and trade courses still exist many problems,which have been long influenced by the cultivation mode of the professional talents.Therefore,it is a practical problem to be solved urgently how the international economic and trade professional courses should reform so as to effectively promote students’ employment ability.Based on the situation and the understanding above,this paper puts forward the core research question:How to integrate employment ability training into the international economic and trade professional curriculum reform.In order to comprehensively answer the research question,this study maiuly uses text analysis method,questionnaire method,interview method,case study method and history research method.The concrete research contents are as planned as follows:The first part is an introduction.It mainly introduces the research background and the research significance of the international economic and trade professional curriculum reform,the domestic and foreign literature review,the research ideas and research methods of this paper,the definition and description of the basic concepts and the theoretical basis.The second part is to trace the history of international economic and trade education in our colleges and universities.It mainly reviews the four stages from the germination,start,exploration to the development,thus obtaining some experience and ideas which are worth pondering over.The third part is to explore the reform of international economy and trade courses of foreign colleges and universities based on employability,and to carry on the detailed analysis of international economic and trade professional curriculum reform of two universities in Britain and Australia,thus obtaining the certain reform experience.The fourth part is the investigation of the current situation of international economic and trade professional courses in our colleges and universities,including the text analysis of the international economic and trade professional curriculum design,with questionnaire and interview survey method to discern the graduates’ and employers’demands for international economic and trade professional curriculum reform,to understand the evaluation of the present situation of the current curriculum and of graduate employment ability,and obtain the related curriculum reform proposals.The fifth part,from the perspective of employment ability,probes into the reform of the international economic and trade professional courses in our colleges and universities,which firstly analyzes the curriculum goals and the reconstruction measures,followed by the optimization and adjustment of curriculum structure and content,and tries to build a concept framework of elements design,and finally expounds and explores the reform of the curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation.The sixth part is the summary of this paper and research prospects.The researcher has arrived at the conclusion:Firstly,the curriculum should clearly take the employability training as the core of the curriculum goal.During the reconstruction of the curriculum goal,students should know the requirements and importance of employability as early as possible.The cooperation with international trade enterprises should be strengthened,manifesting the participation of the enterprise community.Secondly,in the aspect of curriculum structure and content,first of all,the structure should be optimized,which are embodied in the curriculum reform of the type,credit ratio,learning process and learning place.Second,the curriculum content should be adjusted,such as condensing and integrating the content appropriately,increasing the breadth and depth of each course,paying more attention to the curriculum quality,not quantity,combining with the current trade situation to add new content.Lastly,the frame design of the structure and content elements should reflect the characteristics of employability.Thirdly,in terms of curriculum implementation,teachers should consciously cultivate students’ comprehensive employability in the course teaching,by using a variety of ways to embed employability into course teaching,such as trade scenario,seminars,team cooperation,economic and trade business software operation,real business case analysis,study in the scene of the enterprise,bilingual courses,etc.so as to create a student-centered teaching atmosphere,especially to strengthen the students’ active learning and deep thinking in the teaching,and at the same time,provide more help and service for students as much as possible,such as academic advisors,setting up special office hours to communicate with students,inviting senior clerks of international economic and trade enterprises as guiding teachers in the course of practice teaching,holding special seminars to raise the capacity of employment and providing necessary auxiliary support,etc.Fourthly,in the curriculum evaluation,it should be clear that the final objective is to promote the development of students and motivate the students’ employability through various forms of assessment method,mainly the method of formative evaluation.At the same time,we should pay attention to the students’ growth records,recording the academic marks and the progress of employability as well,which not only help students suumarize and reflect the learning,but also help employers understand the students more comprehensively and objectively.The practical significance of this research lies in the fact that by learning the experience of curriculum reform of colleges and universities abroad,and combined with the local features of our country,we can explore the reform path of international economic and trade professional curriculum in our application-based colleges and universities from the perspective of employment ability,and provide the reference for our colleges and universities to cultivate the employment ability into the curriculum program.
