The mainstream culture identity education of college students in the southwest multi-ethnic frontiers is an important part of ideological and political education research,which is not only the realistic requirement of strengthening and improving ideological and political education of college students,but also the need of maintaining the multi-ethnic culture security.This paper,guided by the fundamental ideology and method of Marxism,based on the analysis of the concept,relevance and importance of the mainstream culture identity education,using relevant knowledge of cultural identity,carries out an empirical study on the mainstream culture identity of college students in Yunnan 'and explores the countermeasures to improve the effect of mainstream culture identity education of college students in the southwest multi-ethnic frontiers,basing on the related data,materials and results by empirical investigation.This paper includes the introduction,the text and the conclusion.The text is divided into four parts.First,the conceptual analysis and theoretical basis of the mainstream culture identity education.This paper analyses three core concepts of "culture","mainstream culture","mainstream culture identity education" and clarifies the relationship between cultural identity,ethnic identity and national identity.The analysis of "mainstream culture identity education" is especially an effective breakthrough point of the study.This paper points out the theoretical basis of mainstream culture education.In this paper,"Original theory" and "tool theory" explain the occurrence of identity and Marx theory provides the guidance of world outlook and methodology.The contradiction theory of relationship between universality and particularity of Marx Philosophy,the theory of man's all-round development,"indoctrination" theory are all the important theoretical basis.Second,the present situation of mainstream culture identity of college students and universities in Yunnan.By the investigation of mainstream culture identity of college students in Yunnan universities,the result shows that college students have certain but low degree of identity to the mainstream culture.The average score of college students in the four dimensions of mainstream culture is not consistent.Among them,evaluation dimension wins the highest score and the cognitive dimension gets the lowest score.The survey also shows that ethnic composition,political affiliation,incumbency have significant effects on the level of mainstream culture identity of college students,and that gender,grade,family origin and religious belief has no significant effect,which may have a significant effects on some dimensions of four dimensions.The results of data analysis confirmed the existence of such situation.In addition,universities have made great efforts in terms of students' mainstream culture identity education.Mainly as follows:On the explicit education,universities have set up a series of ideological and political theory courses,focusing on combining theory education and practice education to enhance the effect,and strengthened teachers' team construction.On the implicit education,universities have molded good atmosphere by optimizing the campus material culture and spiritual culture.On the physical security,universities have built a relatively complete supporting system to provide basic life guarantee for college students.Third,main factors to influence the mainstream culture identity of college students in the southwest multi-ethnic frontiers.One is the far edge poor and mountainous geographical environment and economic conditions,which lead to the weak mainstream culture influence and mainstream culture identity education foundation is weak.Two is the widespread ethnic culture,religious culture and foreign culture,which squeeze the dissemination and development space of the mainstream culture,bring out competition and conflict between the mainstream culture and minority culture,religion culture and foreign culture,and influence the mainstream culture identity of college students.Three is the shortcomings of the mainstream culture identity education of college students.There are mainly three aspects,that is,the lack of effectiveness of the ideological and political theory courses,the lack of implicit education of the campus culture and the lack of educational function of management.Fourth,the countermeasures to the mainstream culture identity education of college students in the southwest multi-ethnic frontiers.The mainstream culture identity education is a systematic project.To ensure the smooth educational activities,the first and most important thing is to establish educational objects,principles,value orientations,guiding ideology and the important contents,and meanwhile,is to refer China's Confucian culture and successful experience and failure lessons of cultural identity education in some foreign countries.The self-education method,demonstration method and continuous culture method of the Confucian culture identity education are an effective way that need to be inherited and developed in mainstream cultural identity education.In Australia,Canada,America,Singapore and other western countries,their ways of recognizing the existence of diversity cultures,improving educational methods,shaping the liberal education environments and the successful experience of integrating civic education and national identity education into the education of cultural identity are worthy to learn.The Soviet Union gave up Marx's guiding ideology,simply used administrative orders to deal with the culture and ideology problems and dogmatism and formalism prevailed in college education.All these factors lead to the division of the country,which is a profound lesson for us.At last,this paper explores the methods and paths of mainstream culture identity education based on the results of empirical analysis,which mainly includes five aspects,that is,tamping the foundation of mainstream couture identity education,enhancing the dominant position of the mainstream culture,making full use of educational functions of ethnic culture and revolutionary culture,improving the explicit educational effect of ideological and political theory courses,and enhancing the implicit educational effect of campus culture.
