Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,China has adhered to the policy of Reform and Opening up.As socialism with Chinese characteristics enters a new era,the whole country and nation have undergone tremendous changes.Their ideological status vividly reflects the era of Chinese social development and historical changes.“Youth is the most sensitive barometer of the era.” Today,we must fully understand the state of the college students hotspots thoughts in the historical development,and form a process of comprehensive understanding of the reality of the contemporary college students,the characteristics of the times,as well as their values,interest and needs.By understanding their ideological dynamics and development,ideological and political work in colleges can be strengthened and improved significantly in an effective way.New talents can be cultivated in the era of national rejuvenation.This article focuses on the ideological hotspots of college students,systematically reviews and clarifies the process of college students' ideological development since the Reform and Opening up.It studies their realistic forms,development characteristics and law of changes.It also analyzes the interaction between college students and ideological and political work.The internal logic,evolutionary law,characteristics of the ideological and political education further promote the innovative development of education in college,and enhance their sense of time,pertinence and effectiveness.People's ideology is inseparable from the environment of the times.The hotspot of thought embodies the opposition and conflict of values.It is a part of individual concepts which are highlighted under certain social conditions.It is independence,selectivity and difference of ideas are constantly emerging.Ideological hotspot is the concentrated reflection of College Students' thought and behavior.Exploring the evolution and development law of College Students' ideological hotspot since the Reform and Opening up plays an important role in improving the pertinence and effectiveness of Ideological and political education in the new era.General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that in the new era,“our need for higher education is more urgent than ever,and the desire for scientific knowledge and talent is stronger than ever.” The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China depicts the grand blueprint for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation: from 2020 to 2035,on the basis of building a well-off society in an all-round way,we will continue to achieve socialist modernization for 15 years;from 2035 to the middle of current century.On the basis of realizing modernization,we will fight for another fifteen years and build China into a powerful,democratic,civilized,harmonious and beautiful socialist modern power.As time goes by,the current college students will become the main bearers of the historical mission of “achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation”.Higher education must complete the important historical mission of educating the people and cultivating talents for the country.It is necessary to answer the question of who cultivates people,what kind of people to train,and how to cultivate people.This is directly related to whether the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation can be realized.It is related to whether this great and fundamental problem of the great cause and descendant of the party.The article consists of six parts:Chapter 1 introduces the basic issues of this ideological hotspots.According to the basic standpoint of Marx's historical materialism and dialectical materialism,it expounds the meaning,formation characteristics and manifestations of the hotspots of thought.It analyses the forming process of college students' ideological hotspots,starting with the elements of environment,subject,intermediary and field,discusses the development process of college students' ideological hotspots,and understands the mechanism.Chapter 2 analyzes the historical track of college students hotspots thoughts changes since the Reform and Opening up.The historical development of the 40 years of Reform and Opening up is divided into stages of the Initiation and Exploration of Reform and Opening up,the establishment of a socialist market economic system,the comprehensive construction of a welloff society,and the comprehensive construction of a well-off society.The basic situation of the college students ideological hotspots in various stages is described in detail.It further depicts the development trajectories of college students' ideological hotspots in the past 40 years and draws out the pluralistic value orientation of
