This research is based upon a model of leadership roles developed by Robert E. Quinn and others at the University of Michigan, Graduate School of Business. The four leadership roles: Vision Setter, Task Master, Analyzer, and Motivator are analyzed through the use of a tool known as the Competing Values Framework, a useful mechanism for the integration of managerial leadership models. The focus of this research is senior pastors of the Southern Baptist Convention and the relationship of leadership roles to baptism metrics. Findings by Hart and Quinn in their studies of CEOs are confirmed in this research of senior pastors, whose multidimensional approach to leadership finds a strong relationship to increased levels of adult baptisms. |
