With the development of architectural theory and practice,the lighting,temperature and humidity,space utilization and other issues in architectural space have formed a complete system design mode.Facing the increasing demand of users for space quality,the research of body perception of the environment is expected to become a new idea to improve the quality of architectural space.Based on the theory of phenomenological embodied cognition and the theoretical framework of spatial perception of environmental behavior,this paper takes material texture as the carrier of body perception experience in architectural space.The goal is to verify the relationship between user's body perception experience and architectural space perception by analyzing the principle that material texture affects spatial scale perception.This paper explores the promotion of space quality from the perspective of the original relationship between architecture and human.In this paper,a series of experiments are designed by using VR technology to demonstrate the influence of material texture on spatial scale perception,and analyze the internal law of this influence and the crowd differences.It also analyzes the influence of material texture attributes,material combination and quantity,material texture direction and color,observer's distance,space plane shape and material distribution position on this phenomenon.Through the analysis of the impact of material texture on walking scale perception in dynamic behavior activities,the theory of environmental behavior is expanded.The application of the study is verified by simulating the actual scene and taking the perception of material texture influencing the depth of underground entrance as an example.The results show that material texture does have an impact on spatial scale perception,and this effect varies from the change of observation distance.The effect of material texture on spatial scale perception is related to the texture attributes,combination and quantity,spatial plane shape and material distribution.The effect of material texture on the scale perception of walking space in behavioral activities is opposite to that in fixed space,and generally shows a magnifying effect.In the application analysis of the actual scene,it is necessary to consider the comprehensive results of multiple impacts.The results of this paper expand the research scope of material texture by adding the body perception attribute of texture,supplementing the material texture factors that affect spatial scale perception;Based on the virtual reality experiment,this paper demonstrates the influence of material texture on spatial scale perception,analyzes the internal laws,influencing factors and differences in the process of walking,supplements the material texture factors influencing spatial scale perception,and strengthens the correlation between building materials and spatial perception.Through the empirical analysis of the depth perception of typical underground space entrance,it is proved that the effect of material texture on spatial scale perception is effective and applicable.Through the method of experimental analysis,the quantitative data onto users' subjective feelings and psychological perception of building space are obtained,and a series of experiments that can't be realized in the actual scene are completed by using VR technology,which not only provides method reference to relevant research,but also provides reference from designers to choose building materials in the design process,It has become a new way to improve the quality of architectural space.
