Wu Rulun was a famous scholar,ancient writer and educator in the late Qing Dynasty.However,the academic circles have not systematically discussed this "last master of the Tongcheng School",and there has never been a monograph with Wu Rulun as the research object.Ancient prose is Wu Rulun's immortal deeds and the foundation of his lifelong studying.Therefore,to study Wu Rulun's thoughts and creations,one must start with his literary activities,study the texts in depth,and understand his theories and creations of ancient prose,so as to fully grasp the life of Wu Rulun.Learn the main ideas and other ideas.This article takes Wu Rulun's ancient prose theory and ancient prose creation as the main research object,and once again explores Wu Rulun's use of ancient prose to explain the scriptures and the content of ancient prose for teaching.Since there is no systematic review of Wu Rulun's life experience,the first chapter of this article uses a longer length to examine Wu Rulun's life deeds,especially his early shogunate experience and official experience.By investigating his life experience,analyzing his personality characteristics,value prayers and academic pursuits,it lays a foundation for further expounding his academic thoughts,ancient prose theories,and creative concepts.The second Chapter,the third Chapter and the fourth Chapter focus on Wu Rulun's ancient prose theory and creation.The second chapter is the focus of the full text,which explores the two core propositions of Wu Rulun's ancient prose thought:Tao is preserved by writing and seeking Tao with writing.These two concepts are also the starting point of all Wu Rulun's thoughts on ancient prose,and they are also the core ideas that collude with his philosophy of Tongcheng's ancient prose and the values of practical application.Based on the current texts,most of Wu Rulun's theories about ancient essay creation come from the classic literary theory of the Tongcheng School,so the third chapter of this article mainly discusses Wu Rulun's theory and creation inherited from the Tongcheng School.Including his understanding of Yao Nai's"learning of ancient prose",the inheritance of the Tongcheng school's creative methods and the corresponding ancient prose style.Wu Rulun was born in Tongcheng and studied with Zeng Guofan.He is not only the late student of Tongcheng,but also the backbone of the "Xiangxiang School".His ancient prose theory came from the Tongcheng School,and he blended the style of the Xiangxiang School in his creation.Therefore,his creative theory and writing habits have not deviated from the Tongcheng law,but the theme and aesthetic orientation of the article are different from them.Therefore,the fourth chapter of the article focuses on combining Wu Rulun's representative ancient literary works,analyzing his specific concepts in the theme,form,and aesthetic trend of ancient essay creation,and trying to show more comprehensively that Wu Rulun's choice of ancient literary content and style orientation are biased towards Xiangxiang school.one side.The fifth chapter deals with an important aspect of Wu Rulun's "seeking Taoism through literature",that is,the study of Confucian classics.This is a problem that is rarely noticed.In fact,almost all writers of the Tongcheng School have experience in Confucian studies,but they do not have unique methods of Confucian studies.Wu Rulun inherited the achievements of Yao Nai's previous studies of classics and implemented them in the writing of "Shang Shu Gu.and "Yi Shuo".The method of"seeking meaning from the text" is also related to the ancient prose theory of "seeking the truth from the text".The sixth chapter is devoted to discussing Wu Rulun's theory of "establishing teaching by culture".Wu Rulun's series of viewpoints on nurturing talents with ancient Chinese and "establishing education with culture" in the New Deal in the late Qing Dynasty.This part of the concept is also the continuation of his ancient prose concept of "seeking Taoism through literature".When he was in Lotus Pond Academy,he taught his disciples to learn ancient Chinese for the purpose of "understanding the changes in the world";and after an inspection in Japan,he hoped to inherit the national spirit for the teaching of ancient Chinese.In fact,Wu Rulun's point of view on the setting of new-style classrooms and middle schools at that time became the main theme of Chinese education in primary and secondary schools in later generations.At the same time,from the perspective of the survival and death of Tongcheng ancient prose,Wu Rulun's concept of "establishing teaching by culture" in the new-style education finally destroyed the foundation for the existence of ancient prose,the classic style,and indirectly accelerated the decline and decline of Tongcheng ancient prose.No matter from the perspective of ancient prose theory or creation,Wu Rulun's ancient prose thought is inseparable from the spirit of practical application.On the way he actively explored the world by writing,in addition to giving the ancient writing the function of practicality,it also strengthened the role of using ancient writing to stress the affairs of the world.Wu Rulun hopes to strengthen the role of grammar in order to give play to the important role of ancient prose in describing new things in the new era,and at the same time demonstrate the superiority of ancient prose as the "quintessence of middle school" in literature and art.With his efforts,both the artistry and practicability of ancient prose were able to play a role.It not only possessed the form of classical classical prose,but also served as the carrier of new learning thought for quite some time in the late Qing Dynasty.Although the advocates of later new literature strongly criticized the Tongcheng School,they also admitted that it was precisely because of Wu Rulun and others' transformation of the ancient literature that the ancient literature of Tongcheng became the leader of new ideas and new literature for a long period of time.
