Study On He Tao's Ancient Prose

He Tao received good family influence from an early age,and also studied the ancient prose from Wu Rulun and Zhang Yuzhao,masters of the Tongcheng School,and was an important figure in the Tongcheng School in the late Qing Dynasty.However,an overview of recent research involving He Tao shows that academics have paid less attention to He Tao,especially lacking a systematic grasp of his creation.Therefore,this article takes He Tao's creation as the research object to get a glimpse of the development and changes of Tongcheng School in the late Qing Dynasty.The main body of the thesis is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly examines He Tao's circle of teachers and friends and early enlightenment.Starting with the influence of He Tao's family,the influence of family studies on He Tao's literary accomplishment and character formation.Then,centering on He Tao's dating circle,and the research and guidance of Wu Rulun and Zhang Yuzhao on the ancient Chinese learning of He Tao,supplemented by the study of literary exchanges and teaching activities between He Tao and his friends and disciples,which are all important factors affecting his ancient prose study and creation..The second chapter starts with He Tao's ancient prose creation.According to the genre classification,the content is divided into three categories: historical biography,discourse,and miscellaneous.A detailed summary analysis of He Tao's specific works is carried out to study the characteristics of his creation characteristics and ideological changes.As a traditional scholar with thoughts about the world,He Tao not only adheres to tradition but also advocates learning from the West,and has created a large number of articles concerned with the development of traditional culture and the fate of the country.He uses ancient writing as a means to discuss current affairs and persuade virtue,and state the idea.Therefore,He Tao's prose works can well reflect the development and predicament of the ancient prose of the late Qing Dynasty and his ideological changes in the face of internal and external problems.The third chapter is based on the previous two chapters,and examines He Tao's ancient prose thoughts.Influenced by the guidance of Wu Rulun and Zhang Yuzhao and the discussion of friends' literary affairs,He Tao's ancient prose ideas incorporated individual ideas on the basis of inheriting the views of Tongcheng teachers and friends.In the ancient prose,he mainly put forward three points of view: seeking the gas for the voice and comprehending the spiritual interest;word chapter is given priority to,supplemented by textual research of meaning and reason;and the pursuit of strange and majestic ancient style.In addition,under the reference of He Tao's ancient prose views,we can also feel his unique creative characteristics: first,he is good at discussing and expressing his personal feelings.The second is emotional sincerity,naturally moving,and the use of novels and details such as novel description in writing,which enriches the content of the article and increases readability and expressiveness.This thesis is based on the background of this special era in the late Qing Dynasty,focusing on the perspective of his family background and teacher-friendship,to analyze the characteristics of He Tao's ancient writings,and to further analyze the ancient prose thoughts expressed in his creation,highlighting He Tao's contribution to the continuation of Tongcheng school,whch is also the value of this thesis's research.
