The Research Of Wu Dexuan’s Ancient Prose Criticism

Wu Dexuan, Zhong Lun, born in yixing Jiangsu province.He was good at calligraphy and ancient prose. In calligraphy, he wrote<chu yue lou lun shu essays> and put forward a series of learning concept which gave new blood to late Qing Dynasty calligraphy. In ancient prose, he inherited Zhang Huiyan Yaonai and so on to committed to the prose creation. He was famous at that time and known to Tongcheng.This article is divided into three chapters, starts from Wu Dexuan’s writings to study his criticism and appreciation on different literary phenomenon and astronomers in different time so as to find his construction about ancient prose. The first chapter<Wu Dexuan and Qing Dynasty Ancient Prose Criticism> starts from the whole environment of Ancient Prose Criticism in Qing Dynasty to have a whole understanding about the literary fashion and criticism condition. Then inspect his relationship with Yanghu Groups Tongcheng Groups and Formulism Groups. We analyze his view on ancient prose’s inheritance and revolution from friends and teachers. Wu Dexuan first knew ancient prose after he was 20 years old and started to make progress after he made friends with Yunjing and Zhang Huiyan. When he was 40 years old he learned from Yaonai, then he got real tips on ancient prose. However the situation of Tongcheng Groups ossification needed to be changed. We can’t ignore the influence of Formulism Groups literary concept to Wu Dexuan’s thought. The second chapter<Wu Dexuan prose criticism theory> starts from his poets and articles specially on criticism, mainly references to<Chu Yue Lou ancient prose introduction>.We can investigate his appreciation and criticism on Pre-Qin Zhuzi Prose<Shi Ji> <Han Shu> the eight tang-song prose masters’ ancient prose and ming-qing Dynasty literati’s articles to find out that there was conservative and traditional opinion as well as his unique understanding. Then we detect his attitude to literature of different styles and different groups. The third chapter,<From Wu Dexuan prose criticism for the theoretical construction of prose>, we conclude and summarize Wu Dexuan’s literary criticism carefully, state his thoughts and theories about ancient prose tradition language expression aesthetic style and criticism method in order to master cores of Wu Dexuan’s view on ancient prose criticism.
