Fuzziness is a kind of uncertainty, which is based on whether the boundary of the property or the category of things is clear or not.It is the ambiguity, this and that, and one or the other in people's understanding of the boundary or the nature of the category of things.Fuzziness has three basic characteristics:the fuzzy boundary but with relative clarity of core area, relative plasticity, and duality. As a basic feature of natural language, fuzziness exists in different levels of language systems such as phonetic, semantic and grammatical.Semantic fuzziness is the most basic and common fuzzy phenomenon.Language is the basic element of literary works and the fuzziness is in the language itself which will inevitably permeate literary works. As a special literary genre, ancient Chinese poetry has its brilliant literary style benefited to a large extent from the fuzzy language(especially the fuzzy semantics).Using the fuzzy language accurately and reasonably can create a special artistic conception of concealment and profound charm of the readers.First of all, from the perspective of word meaning, there are a large number of fuzzy words used in ancient poetry to create images with unlimited imagination and express the poet's complex emotions with the least language. From the perspective of sentence meaning,Chinese emphasizes parataxis, and the combination of sentences, phrases and words has great flexibility and freedom. It is very common to find the omission of conjunctions and the omission of the subject of sentences in Chinese.Secondly, language is the carrier of culture and its meaning is influenced by culture,at the same time culture is inevitably expressed through language.Ancient poetry contains a lot of traditional Chinese culture, and it is obvious to find its semantic fuzziness at the cultural level.Thirdly,in order to create artistic atmosphere and beautiful artistic conception, there are a large number of rhetorical devices adopted in the ancient poetry, which leads to semantic fuzziness on the rhetorical level.Rhetorical mode depends on the features of language, social and cultural factors.Rhetorical expression also contains profound languages and cultural connotations. Moreover, language, culture, and rhetoric are interdependent and mutually influencing,so the characteristics and laws of semantic fuzziness in Chinese can be comprehensively analyzed and investigated from different perspectives.Although fuzzy language is shared by all human beings, due to the historical, national, regional and unique cultural inheritance of each language,it shows great differences which will bring many uncertain factors to translation.Translation is a special process of transferring meaning between two or more languages. In essence, translation is a process of meaning selection,an organic unity of the author, the translator and the reader. The ideal translation is to achieve the maximum equivalence with the least loss of meaning. From the perspective of fuzzy semantics, translations is the process of combing the implicit and explicit semantics of the source text.Through the necessary implicit and explicit conversion,a new process of semantic implicit and explicit combination is realized in the target language text.Due to the complexity of fuzzy language, translators are required to make a systematic study of fuzzy language(especially fuzzy semantics)in translation practice, attach great importance to the common and different fuzzy features of different languages from the theoretical perspective,so as to adopt more effective methods to deal with different fuzzy expression examples in translation practice.Language fuzziness is closely related to translation studies, which is an inevitable problem in translation studies.Applying the fuzziness theory to observe and analyze the translation science can provide new ideas and methods for the study of translation practice,as well as reference for the construction of translation theories and methods. In view of this, based on Fuzzy Set Theory and related translation theories, this paper takes Three Hundred Tang Poems and its two Korean versions as examples to establish a bilingual parallel corpus between Chinese and Korean, and uses the method of combining theory with practice to conduct a comprehensive and systematic study on the semantic fuzziness of Chinese vocabulary and sentence, the semantic fuzziness at culture level and the semantic fuzziness at Chinese rhetoric level. At the same time, this paper analyzes the different manifestations of semantic fuzziness at various levels and the root causes of this phenomenon, and explores and summarizes the corresponding translation principles and strategies of Chinese-Korean translation through the examples of Chinese-Korean translation, and finally concludes the process of Chinese-Korean translation from the perspective of semantic fuzziness. In this paper, the fuzzy theory is introduced into the study of Chinese-Korean translation in a comprehensive way to examine Chinese-Korean translation activities from a brand-new perspective. The three main viewpoints are formed as follows.Firstly, translation is essentially a process of thinking in which the meanings of the two languages are gradually matched through fuzziness integration. There are a series of transition states in translation, which is generally an imprecise process. The translator can adjust the target language according to the meaning or artistic conception produced by the fuzziness of the source text,so as to make the untranslatability translatable to realize the"second creation" of translation and make the translated works converge to the original works according to the relevance criterion.Secondly, when translating Chinese into Korean, the translator should compare and analyze the semantic fuzziness of the two languages in terms of vocabulary, sentence, culture and rhetoric in order to find the best way to express information equivalently. When there is corresponding fuzzy expression in the target language, the most efficient translation method of fuzzy semantics is fuzzy equivalent translation. If there is no corresponding fuzzy expression in the target language,we can flexibly use the methods of addition and deletion, changing sentence order, transforming sentence pattern, adjusting component, punctuation and annotation to deal with the fuzzy meaning,so as to make the meaning of the translated text close to the original to the greatest extent.Thirdly, due to the historical origins of China and Korea and the homogeneity of language and culture, most of the fuzzy expressions can be transferred into the translation, but some of them can not keep their integrity in the process of Korean translation, therefore,it is essential for translators to deal with the specific context flexibly.
